Hi all, Just registered and looking for opinions on skis. A friend lent me his K2 Shreditor 102's in 179. First time I have skied in about 16 yrs. 56 yrs old, used to tear up the mtns on Rossignal's GS skiis. I always demoed a few pair each year, but never found anything that matched my Rossi's for me. All terrain skier, bumps, steeps, cut up crud my favorite. The Rossi's just made everything easy. Black and double black anything, high speed cruising with monster turns.
Yesterday on the K2's found me with huge grin all day long. Really feeling it today. Hardpack and soft crud. Out of ski shape. Couldn't believe I could still ski decently! A little bump banging, high energy slalom turns on the fast groomers. The skis excelled at quick slalom turns on the hard pack, real high energy. Good in the smaller bumps, my legs were not ready for the bigger bumps. In the crud, they excelled- weight on both skis in turns just motoring. Not as impressed at high speed big turns on hard pack, they wanted to be more on edge.
When I get tired, I tend to really work on technique.
So, which ski for me? Showdown Montana, maybe Big Sky and Bridger as well.
Thanks, MikeB
