Tech sole boot modification

I'm interested if anyone has modified their boot at all for a tech fitting. I think the CAST system is a great idea but $200 is pretty steep investment for a boot conversion. I'm wondering if anyone has tried these tech blocks and had any success? I ski a 140 race and don't want to sacrifice that performance.

If you're that concerned about giving up downhill performance I'd stick with a frame binding.

This would never work in your favor, for safety, durability, or skiing performance. It would 100% ruin your boot.

A few people on the TGR forums has done this exact mod to their full tilts, I think that photo is even from there. If I recall correctly, all went well. My question is why not run a new lupo series or atomic hawx ultra 130? Tech fittings, great hike modes and they offer about all the performance of your 140s with being so much warmer.

I tried this years lupos and the lange 130 freetour and was not impressed by the flex. Didn't actually get a chance to ski them so I can't be a huge judge. Also trying to stay away from 3 piece boots. I'd rather do something creative than just buy more shit
