A solution to opiate addiction that has worked great for me. (Methadone)

Seems like a good first step to stop getting high, but what next? Do you gradually take less and less methadone at some point? Or is the opioid addicted mind so permanently damaged that you will always need it? Just curious

Yes, eventually ur supposed to wean off methadone. It's not a permanent thing.

speaking from a person who has been prescribed for over 3 some of the most highly addictive drugs in the world that have the highest dependency rate and the ones that are the most difficult to come off and also have the worst withdrawal symptoms (xanax, vyvanse, oxycotin), i can honestly say that it is 100% the doctors fault, and they should be held accountable and criminally charges. The doctors are the ones enabling addicts, drugs like benzodiazapims are supposed to be prescribed for 2 to 3 weeks max, and doctors prescribe certain patients for years. Also, drugs like opiates to not fix long term pain, they act as a band-aid, and once you get off them the pain intensifies. All these drugs have horrific withdrawal symptoms that you can die from. Most of the motherfuckers that these doctors are giving these narcotics to are clear drug addicts. Take Lil Peep for example, who the fuck in their right mind would give him a prescription for Xanax? Like are you kidding me. Doctors can say NO to patients, and most people don't realize that. The major of opiates that ppl are dying from were given to by doctors, yet in this country doctors are so heavily protected and are never heard responsible. If anyone wants to know, I am currently in a lawsuit with a doctor suing for negligence, malpractice, and overprescribing me drugs that are only meant to be given to patients for 2-3 weeks MAX. The fucking doctor gave me them for 3 years, when it was made clear to her that i developed and addiction as a result of THE DOCTOR prescribing me the drugs. The bottom line in doctors can say NO to patients. And the who argument that if patients don't get the drugs that they will buy them off the street instead, sure they may do that, but that is a lame ass excuse.

NSdiedWOdlnI was an addict for years, having to take one thing or another, not to get high, but to feel normal. Granted, i prefer my life on opiates to my life before them (many addicts do, its the dirty little secret that the edgetools dont want you to know), but it was definitely stressful. I finally decided to try methadone in 2015. Before i got on it i had heard alot of bad things about it, including comparing it to suboxone, a drug that really didnt work for me at all. But getting on methadone was one of the best decisions ive ever made. I now feel between normal and good all day everyday. Its very long acting, so it feels like a very good antidepressant with a slight buzz you feel from time to time. I was on different SSRIs before, and methadone beats them in every category (not just for me but for many ppl i know). Its a full agonist opioid, which basically means its “real” and it effects your receptors the same way normal opiates do.
Ive had multiple friends who died from overdose who might have still been here if they were on methadone. Im sure some of you all have friends/family suffering from opioid addiction, so i hope this info helps you help them.

No offense, but you are essentially the fat bitch who sued mcdonalds bc the coffee was too hot. I consider anybody who doesnt research the hell on whatever they put in their body to be too stupid to complain about the shit that happens to them, and apparently this includes you. 9 out of 10 doctors are the type who will refuse to prescribe painkillers to people who actually need them, people legitimately in pain, because they are bleeding pussies afraid of the dea. You were lucky to find a MAN who had the BALLS to prescribe you what you said you needed, so quit complaining.

In theory, depressed people are also supposed to wean off ssri’s, even if their life is better on them, and old people are supposed to wean themselves of anticoagulants, even though the anticoagulants will extend their lives by 15-20 years.

The honest truth is that the ppl who really want you to get off methadone dont want anybody else to be living a life more fun/more enriched than the life they themselves
Live. A huge number of methadone patients prefer their daily mood on methadone to the way they felt before getting hooked on opiates. If serotonin is your lacking, ssris are the best help. If endorphins are your lacking, things like methadone are your best help.
