I am 5'-6" 160lbs. I am looking for a good East coast mogul/tree ski. I usually ski at Magic Mountain and Plattekille . I have been using Line Supernatural 92's 164 they are great for groomers however not so great when I hit the woods and moguls. They just do not respond fast enough and force me to work real hard. Some suggestions I have found from searching are as follow: Atomic Automatic 109, Ross sin and soul 7, Nomad 95, moment pband, and line blend and bacon. I really like skiing trees and moguls. I never go in the park but people keep pointing me toward twins. I am more of a playful quick turn type of skier. I really dont enjoy ripping down the mountain on groomers. When i do ski groomers i find myself staying on the side looking for bumps and deeper snow. Please Help lol

First of all I would consider getting longer skis if I were you, at 5’6 164 is pretty short, im around 5,5 and ski 185 mostly, but thats a lot of personal preference in ski choice and mount location. You could probably ski something mid 170s and be happy with that.
My other recommendation is stay away from any of the rossi 7 line, the air tip might look cool but they’re pretty much all wildly unstable and hve massive amounts of tip flop, if you never ski outside of smooth pow or at low speeds they’re fine, but I know how the east coast is, you’re gonna end up skiing hard snow at some point.
Also on the east coast ive found a turn radius under 20 meters works really well for woods skiing where as over 20 starts getting a little cumbersome in tight trees but you can go faster on piste.

Are you looking to replace your Supernaturals or add to your quiver?
Replace- Vantage 95 C
Addition- Backland 109
The Vantage 95 will be a rad do-it-all East Coaster, but not ideal on a huge freshie day. The Backland 109 won't be a good daily driver in your area, but it will be a killer tree/pow ski for you.

Check out the 4FRNT Devastator. I picked up a pair of these this year and they are awesome! I ski the east and i'm always in the woods. (think canyon glades at Killington) The 174 is 105 underfoot and the fully rockered profile helps to provide great float when things are the least bit soft. They are super east to pivot and turn on a dime, very manuverable in the woods. The are a bit tricky to handle on very steep and iced up bumps but other than that they excel all over the mountain and in a variety of snow consditions. I've never had a better ski for post pow day chop, these things cut right through it.
Now I'm 6'1 220 and i'm on the 184cm which is fine for me and i'd definelty be on the 194 if I lived in the west and skied more open terrian. For you'd id check out 174 or 164 (which is 102 underfoot).
Hope this helps!
