How to bend a ski brake back

My friend had an ejection while landing switch and he bent a brake arm pretty bad. What is the most common way to bend it back because it seems to be a common issue on this site. We have tried some stuff but its unsuccessful

I would heat it up where it bent with a small torch and put a pipe on the end and try to bend it back. If that doesn't work a lot of shops have extra brakes and they'd probably just give you one.

By heating it you are probably going to break the brake arm off. If you have a vice, the best way to bend them is to take the plastic piece off and clamp the brake down really hard and then bend it back by using a pipe or whatever you have for leverage.

Agree that the key is to use a metal pipe for leverage with the plastic area in a vice. I use a 6" long 1.25" thicker walled metal plumbing pipe inserted over the brake and it works great even without heat.

It doesn't need to be glowing red, just a little heat will help a lot.

A couple pairs of visegrips should be able to get it close to it's original shape. They're not that strong really.
