SaucerboyshaneBehind Smuggs on Sterling Mountain they have some good backcountry. When you ski to the bottom there is also a bus that picks you up and takes you back! http://www.smuggs.com/pages/winter/skiride/trail-map-large.php
L.G.P.Stowe has some quality backcountry spots off the gondie that'd be worth the trip. The rock garden, which is if you hike up to the top of Mansfield, and Angel Food which is an actual backcountry trail that ends up on the crossroad from Stowe to Smuggs. I know Stowe and Smuggs pretty well and you can basically just explore off-mountain terrain, and 9 times out of 10 its really dope with good snow.
Titus69Forgot about Jay, probably the best pow skiing Iíve done besides Alta, spent a few days there and was blown away on the first.
JnetsYeah it's great up at jay... only thing is it's not a secret anymore, everyone knows about Jay. But that's everywhere now you just gutta wake up earlier.
Titus69Yeah I pretty much skied alone which is kinda bad, but I just remember the best glade ever. Lotta trees but it was easy to float around them, and really nice drops.
Only 3 days til I can touch snow again and Iím losing my mind
JnetsSame here dude. Killington on Saturday.
snomasterI've found a bunch of stuff out there just poking around. Carinthia used to have the "Stove". You can ski Proctorsville Gulch if you dare. There is also Cousin Eddy's further to the north.
SofaKingSickcan you elaborate on these? thanks
Jah-BeefThe proctorsville one is one Iíve been looking at for a while. Itís actually in the proctor-piper state forest area just before Okemo. If you drive up 103 to that area and just look up to your left and right you can see some lines that almost look like runoof streams for water or something. Just find your line park your car on the side, hike up and go for it.
SofaKingSickInteresting. I might try to look for it if there's dece snow next time I'm around there. Thanks dude
Jah-BeefNeeds a little more snow than whatís out there right now. Itís pretty steep so getting up might be a problem without skins. If you do definitely let me know how it goes, been looking at those lines my whole life and never seen a ski line down them.
