I'm new to this forum so I apologize if this is the type of question that is asked far too often by newbies.
Anyhow, I'm an intermediate/ advanced mostly EC Skier. I stick to single blacks, some doubles when conditions are good, and the trees with buddies, and some blues/green during each day with my wife. I have been skiing for the last four seasons on 181 K2 Aftershocks, which I have learned to love (purchased at a way great deal), but they really are a beast to maneuver in the trees, and I am looking to go with something shorter in the 170's, lighter, and more nimble. A buddy of mine has been egging me on to get some Rossignol's. He's on the 77's after he broke is 88's and Rossignol was kind enough to send him a free pair of 77's... I have been considering the Rossignol Experience 88 HD's in a 172. Been talking with Backcountry, and said my idea of the 88's as a solid one, but they are is saying I'd be happier with the Salmon QST 85. I did mention that this is the year I am planning to start teaching my toddler to ski for 1/2 the day, so they think the QST 85 will be a far more friendly... Of course I have read both great reviews and terrible reviews about both skis. I am really trying to pick something up before the season starts as opposed to demo for a few days on the MTN, as being a new-ish father I have far less time to hit the slopes and I need to optimize the time I get out there, and for the last three seasons I keep saying I need something different for my everyday ski.
Thanks,
JB
