My TST's are pretty much done. Too many core shots to continue skiing on them. They have treated me extremely well the past 4 seasons, including heli-skiing, side-hillin, and skiing over 15 different resorts. I think it's time for a new set up. Basically looking for a 1 quiver ski (though I do have JJ's with Dynafits for my touring skis).
I'm looking at the new Armada ARV 106's! They look great, and I only read great things about them. The only thing is...the length change is something I didn't want to mess around with too much...183 suited me perfect! Plus, I think they are a bit softer then the TST's. I talked to Armada and they said the 188's would be no problem for me. Thoughts?? I'm only 5'9 175 lbs, so it is a big ski, BUT, I ski really aggressive, and would consider myself quite advanced in ability...only thing I lack is tricks! (360's and back flips is the best I can do now:) Yes, I ski switch, but at my old age of 38, I can only do switch 180's, carve switch at high speeds, etc. I love being in the air... so I'm looking for a ski that can jib, but also handle speeds over 100km/hr while smashing crud!
Any help would be much appreciated! Thx!
Is 188 versus 183 in length a big deal?
Is a 101 underfoot versus 106 noticeable?
ps...I will be putting markers on these new skis.
