Hi, someone gave me a set of snow skis and I'd love to try them out but I have little experience or knowledge of skiing. However, as an avid golfer, I know how important it is to have the right equipment, so I tried to research these skis online with no luck. Maybe someone can help give me some info as to whether or not I have a decent pair or if I should throw them in the trash and buy something more respectable. The skis are spalding saturn w 16, 180 c, they have tyrolia 480 bindings, and the skis claim to be electronic flex control, unsure of what that means. Any info for this newbie would be amazing. attached picture to thread.

Get something newer for sure. Those skis are pretty ancient by comparison to today's shapes/lengths and I wouldn't trust my knees with those old bindings. Even a newer "budget" ski will be a better ride for a beginner.

oh yeah those are some old skis and bindings. i can't view the image bigger for some reason but id bet those bindings are too old for any shop to work on them/fit them to your boots
like the other dude said, you'd be better off getting something cheap and current, or just renting skis depending on how much you plan to go

Some one would probably buy them just to have them
