If you could spend a season at any mountain, which would you choose and why?
I just graduated business school but rather than get a boring job I want to spend at least one season as an instructor. I would be open to other jobs but want to spend the maximum amount of time skiing, and I've heard ski school is one of the best jobs for this. All-mountain skiier don't care about parks. Would prefer affordable living near the mountain vs. commute. Nightlife is nice, but I'm more into smoking (but not opposed to looking outside of CA/CO) or drinking and just chilling with friends than going out. Along those lines, I'd love a place where the employee community hangs out a lot. I originally was thinking Whistler in order to meet a bunch of chill aussies there, but I'm thinking it would be less complicated to go somewhere in the States. What do you think?

I spent a couple seasons working at Steamboat, it's an awesome community and a super fun mountain. The terrain isn't as gnarly as you'll find at a lot of other resorts, but it's got great trees, some nice cliffs, and the employee housing is the best that I've found

Glad to hear you liked it there! What does the process look like for getting into employee housing? I've heard that at some resorts, you have to apply for it super early, or there is a waitlist and you have to get super lucky, etc.
Crested Butte sounds unreal. Never been but i'll be looking into it more now. Alta would also be sick. I've skied PC and hear that alta snow is similar but it gets dumped on way more. The only thing there is I'm hoping to do a decent amount of boarding as well. Really appreciate the replies though!
Just worked my first season at Mt.Baker and wow it was a pow year. Awesome community and people working there, plus we got a baller breakfeast made to order and pack lunches.

Aspen area isn't cheap but the skiing is sick and housing is affordable and close to the mountain.
