We have sent out the first round of invitations to those special few who signed up for our awful April Fools joke.

If you missed out, please be patient as we're releasing this app in limited waves as it becomes more and more ready. If you didn't sign up, please sit tight and wait for the sign of the next round of invites to go up.

If you did, then please post up any bugs, feedback, thoughts or whatever else in this thread.

ski.the.eastyeah by "bad" I meant the white space, but it totally makes sense that thats a placeholder for a nav bar and the code is bleeding through a lil bit during loading screens

We should have a launch out soon to correct that.

Thanks for pointing out! There definitely are bugs and tweaks to correct during the beta phase.

although im rarely on here, im salty after paying 1 or 2 bucks 6 or 7 years ago when you made your first app, and i didnt have 1 or 2 bucks to spend... feel like og users should have gotten invites.

Sorry about that man, that app was kind of a disaster. We fucked up and I feel bad about it.

Really like the navigation bar on the bottom, makes my thumbs happy and has worked really well in other apps. Makes navigation way easier

Did you try what I said? Are they working after you have done the logout/force quit/open/login ?

Love it!! So nice to be able to go to threads or notifications without having to go to the top of the page. Nice work!

Having the bar at the bottom is really helpful! I haven't noticed anything else wrong so far, this app is pretty cool and I'm really looking forward to using it more and more to find out everything that's going on in here.

great update, love the bar staying on the bottom, and also love the arrows that show up when scrolling to jump to the top/bottom for thread page navigation. Not sure if that was there before but great touch.

One suggestion I have for the pop ups from the bar is to make them more interactable, and fill the screen in a better way than being cutoff halfway on the bottom. Here's a screenshot of "Alerts"

the only way to close is to tap the little X up top, or tap the close button that's cut off halfway. It'd be great if it filled the page without having to scroll to find buttons, and you could swipe that card away to close it, similar to how a lot of other iOS apps work. No need to hit a tiny X when you can just swipe the whole card down, if that makes sense

Swiping is too much for V1 - but we'll put that on the list for V2. We did our best to get this out the door in as rapid as a timeframe as possible, so there are still limitations to what we can put in V1.

That being said - it shouldn't be cut off like you're seeing. We'll look into that, as it should be smooth to either X out or to hit close at the bottom close to your thumb.

You have created a great App!
The only little improvement I would suggest is to put thin grey lines between two videos/post/news etc..
Today when turning my phone to the side I got confused and liked the "wrong" post.

Samsies, but menu bar at the bottom is way more familiar to other similar apps (Facebook/Instagram/ect.) so I like it much better. Can the menu that comes from the menu bar (mythreads for example) come up from the menu bar now instead of down from the top? Now that the menu bar is down at the bottom it's not as fluid to go from the button to the menu - if that makes sense. Notifications are still a bit wonky- I get the alert sound and pop-up, but badges doesn't seem to work. That's all I got for now (although I feel like I added something to Sklars google doc but can't remember what it was).

I'm an idiot, I found it!

Buuuut since I'm still here, home button on the bottom possibly? I know that's how most of the social media apps these days work so I think that would be neat instead of having to make multiple clicks to return back

Yeah the animation can very likely be changed. Wanted to move the bar first and see how everyone liked it before making further tweaks.

Mill take a look at ideas here but remember mobile apps are only "simple and easy" because you leave absolutely everything out you possibly can. The more we start to add the more complicated the entire interface gets.

Yeah I completely agree with this now that the menu bar at the bottom seems to be working well.

It's been pretty good for me, biggest bug I've noticed is the scroll distance doesn't match between vertical and horizontal orientations. If I'm scrolling the home page vertically and turn my phone sideways, it jumps me to a different scroll

Sooo bad. I remember it used to happen once in a blue moon on like suuuper long threads but now it's like every multi page thread. Super frustrating.

This is a major problem and we know, a fix will be coming soon, we just have a lot going on right now with programming.

Working on that one. It's definitely a problem, but admittedly we don't have a solution yet. Definitely know that it has to be fixed.

Just got it the other day so I haven't had much chance to explore but so far my only suggestion is to make the borders between things a bit clearer. Mostly in my threads, the pop-up thing appears kinda jumbled, and to a lesser extent in the threads themselves, the boundary between posts isn't that clear. Not a problem for me, but might be for people who haven't been on NS for nearly a decade.

Only thing that I'd like to be able to do is be able to copy a link, so if I want to send a thread or video or what not to someone, I have no way of accessing the URL- unless I'm just missing it haha

a good solution for this would maybe be hold down on the title of a thread/video/etc in the top bar and a little copy/paste menu pops up, and the URL can be copied

Those are the mod tools, you're seeing that screen because you technically don't have access to edit your posts. It's a big that you're seeing the pencil to edit posts.

Very cool! This app is dope and I love how I can see right when you quoted my post and I hopped right into the app. I think this is a perfect way to boost forum use, such easy access.

There's big future for Newschoolers in the notification system. We want to be super careful not to make it overwhelming, but I think adding a couple of choice types of notifications will be a game changer.
