Look Pivot 14

Hey!
2 years ago I bought a Look Pivot binding in order to have no binding problems anymore, and for better preventing of knee damage.
So my ACL teared while skiing, which I don't blame on the binding. But the main problem is, that it always releases when it should not. Today I hit my head hard because of it. The thing is it don't really releases it goes off sideways and the heelpieces are still in the closed position. I put in the binding as close to the boot as possible. It happens most times when I'm pedaling on the front foot for a back spin out. Does anyone have the same problem? Could there be a flawed part of the binding?

At 11 and my weight is around 60kg which is 132lbs i guess.

A my boots are FT Tom Wallisch, I mean they have to fit well.

Sounds more like a forward pressure issue than your dins to me, 11 is pretty high for 130 lbs anyway. Your bindings are most likely fine. All the same, we're just people on the internet and can't actually test out your skis. It would probably make sense to take them to a shop and get them checked out professionally.

Does anyone have had the same experiences? Is this a common problem? Otherwise something on my personal setup has to be wrong..

Bring your skis to a shop and pay them 15$ or whatever it is to take a look before your injure yourself. Also, have fun blowing out your knees.

it is defiantly a forward pressure issue. I am 170 pounds with a din of 7 and mine have released on my less than 5 times.

An 11 din at 130lbs is just asking for trouble.

Yep its a forward pressure issue. Din level 9 is still on the higher side for your weight even in the park. I'm 175 lb, 6,0 tall and i have pivot 12s. i keep my din at 9. take em to your local shop and get the pressure adjusted.

If you look up how to check it, it is very easy to do yourself. Just a few turns of a screw driver.

Given your din and weight its probably no your release setting, I would have a shop check if theirs any play in the toe or heel piece of your binding. Also, could be a problem with your AFD but I doubt it.

Adjust your forward pressure and turn BOTH dins down to about 9 but make sure they are equal

Damn. I ride like 7 or 8 din and im 135lb. I have no problems pre releasing on my pivot 14s

Thanks everyone for the answers. I will remount my back plate, because my adjustments on the arms is already maximum forward. Will see how it goes.
