Forbidden to ski in Iceland

Long story short, I'm missing opening week at my local ski hill because I'm going to be in Iceland for the week. Last week I mentioned going skiing up there at one of the 2 resorts and my parents said I am not allowed to ski in foreign countries unless I'm there explicitly to ski. Skiing has been responsible for the last 4 times I've been to a hospital so I kind of see where they are coming from.

What do I do Newschoolers?

No skiing?

Or

Send it for the boys?

just enjoy Iceland since its fucking epic then go skiing when you get back home, its only a week /thread

Might start off by being grateful that your parents are willing to take you to a foreign country, those medical bills don't pay themselves, and not to mention you sound like an ungrateful brat. Get a grip on life and appreciate what you have and enjoy some of the most incredible natural beauty the Northern Hemisphere has to offer.

You will probably look back on your life and regret wasting your family's time skiing wind-hammered, zero visibility, ice. Bring a skateboard or rent bikes or something

hidden valley is the saddest excuse for a ski hill in north america. you should be stoked that you get to be in iceland instead of skiing at that shithole.

I think you can get low-cost insurance for foreign travels? I know that a ton of American ski academies have their kids buy some sort of insurance or medi-flight thing when they travel down to South America.

Skiing is great, but Iceland is epic. Forget about skiing for a week and see/do everything you can while you're there (i.e. - spend as much time as you can in natural hot springs. Go to Seljavallalaug. It's the best)
