Something to think about anyway!

s-handI personally dont think it will ever change. Despite the lawsuits people have tried to file, this isnt discrimination. It isnt preventing anyone from coming there. The rule just says what youre allowed to do there. You dont see people bitching about not being able to snowmobile down the slopes. ANYone is allowed to ski there.
PeppermillRenoFuck this.
One of the bastions of freedom is Alta telling those fucks to get lost. No I don't want to ski past you sitting down doing your bindnings off the lift you loser. Nor do I want to see you slide down a pow run and scrape all the fresh. Just fuck off. Great mountain hope they keep to their principals. The vibe at snowbird sucks ass too. Alta you ride lifts with smokeshow BYU female students and get good snow every run. Snow sucks at Bird BC of faggy borders.
You got a problem with it Eheath and Abortionator are holding a support group in this thread.
Skiing for the skiiers yo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ski.the.east/s....?
if not then calm down bud. I agree with eheath that even if they were allowed, boarders wouldn't really dig all the long traverses, and having them unstrap along those would be an annoyance/safety concern. But the whole getting pissy over whether you're sliding snow on one or two planks of wood thing is getting real old. Its way more fun to ski/ride with homies vs alone, who cares if some choose one plank
DeebieSkeebiesonly people actually upset about there being skier-only hills still are these johnny tsunami kooks with fresh af burton kits.
I feel bad for that dude who tried suing alta over discrimination, though. Poor guy, its not like hes got like 4 other resorts nearby as well as ungodly amounts of terrain all over the state, I wonder how they would ever be able to cope with such awful circumstances.
eheathHahaha nice one
maybe in the future, although i still stand strong with the fact that most snowboarders wouldn't like alta, you have to traverse basically everywhere. Experienced snowboarders would be fine, but gapers walking on the traverses is not fun. I've had some awesome pow days skiing at solitude and would notice some of the traverses to more terrain would have huge holes and such from snowboarders, its not a problem unless the traverse is super narrow, but I think half the reason alta keeps snowboarders out is for that reason alone.
Truth be told, if you snowboard and live in utah, just go to snowbird, its bigger and has very similar terrain as alta and dont worry about it.
theabortionatorYeah for sure. It's not like you would bitch if there were snowboard only parks because you could go somewhere else still. And you'll probably say you wouldn't, but I doubt that.
Is it going to ruin anyone's lives? Of course not, but there still is a weird skier snowboarder rift deep down and it's stupid.
I don't really care as much about the places not allowing snowboarding just get annoyed by all the skiers derrping about.
PeppermillRenoIts not stupid.
I do both. Really enjoy the board. I'd never ski somewhere flat and lame like Stratton or Okemo would far rather snow board.
BUT I THINK SNOWBOARDERS WHO GO ON STEEP TERRAIN AND AREN'T EXPERTS AND PRO LEVEL RIDERS AND SCRAPE THE POWDER AND 1 OF THEM FUCK THE SNOW UP WORSE THAN 5 SKIIERS NEED TO BE EXECUTED.
Boarding being relatively easy to progress means intermediates don't stay off expert terrain they just scrape down it on their toe/heel.
eheathI mean an intermediate skier would slide down the run in the same fashion, you're just being bias.
PeppermillRenoIm fucking heady at snowboarding too I love that shit when Im on a mountain that would be too boring to ski 100 bucks says I'd beat ya in a race Eheath both of us on snowboards.
BUT I am absolutely not pro level good and you honestly have to be ridiculously good to be able to snowboard through good steep terrain and not fuck nice fresh snow up for everyone behind you. Very few boarders you see on the hill are this good they exist but most do not belong on good terrain when there is good snow becuase they will fuck it up super quick.
eheathI am absolutely terrible at snowboarding, so I would say you'd beat me on a snowboard.
I think you're still being a bias, I know plenty of snowboarders who aren't "pro" at all that shred the same shit I do and it doesn't fuck it up. Saying that any snowboarder who isn't ridiculously good ruins the snow on the run is just wrong. Yes a snowboarder sliding down the hill sideways ruins the snow, but its silly to say skiers cant do the same thing, because they do all the time, ive witnessed it first hand.
You seem to really, really dislike snowboarders, which is fine, but you're using the same bullshit mentality that the old people at alta have that pisses everyone off. Assuming every snowboarder who isn't pro level ruins the snow is bullshit, but i cant tell you what to think.
PeppermillRenoYou're talking about the entire mountain and boarders riding in general.
Im talking about key primo steep spots which have nice powder on them. It sucks when anyone hits those spots before you of course but its 10x worse when its a snowboarder who isn't pro level.
Alta has a lovely vibe to it. Way chiller and more laid back than lining up for the tram next door.
eheathI mean an intermediate skier would slide down the run in the same fashion, you're just being bias.
