Hello, I just bought my first ski setup and I am looking for some help with a good mounting position for Marker Griffons on K2 shreditor 102s. I have looked on K2s website, read forums, and talked to a tech and everybody says something a little different.
I am an intermediate skier who is looking to have this ski for a few years and improve on it. I don't have much experience in the park, I mostly ski groomers and hit little jumps on those. Mainly looking for the best setting that will make this ski the most balanced. I want to be able to ski groomers well, get in the air a bit, do good in some pow, as well as learn to ski switch. I am not a timid skier, but I know my limits.
From what I've heard the "traditional" setting is no good, even though that's what K2 recommends. On the forums I've heard people say anywhere from -2 to -4 (towards the tail from core center, I assume) to +2 to +4 (towards the tip from traditional/midsole I assume). The shop recommended I stay with in +2 of traditional/midsole. The core center is +7.5 from midsole.
Main Point: I want this ski to be set so I can get better and challenge myself a little bit. I don't want to have to re mount my bindings for a year or 2. I want to be able to go anywhere and have good balance in the air, while also maintaining good turning on groomers or harder snow.
Thanks for any and all help!
