I am looking into purchasing a pack mostly for slack/sidecountry. I haven't done any real backcountry/touring but suspect that I will be in the future (not this year, but in the coming years)
I don't have any avvy gear (beacon, probe, shovel) YET, but would like a pack that will be able to fit these things, while also being small enough that its not a hassle to carry around while skiing inbounds. This year I'll likely only be carrying a helmet, goggles, an extra layer, some food, and a hydration system. Definitely wanting a pack that can easily hold skis when doing inbounds hiking.
I've found a few packs im interested in and would love to get some advice from everyone about what's best for my needs.
I'm looking at the following packs:
Deuter Freerider 26
Deuter Freerider Pro 30
Mammut Nirvana Pro 25/35
Mammut Nirvana Ride 30
(also open to other mammut packs)
Anyone advice from those with experience using these packs and if a 25 will/wont be appropriate for my needs would be greatly appreciated!
