Religon Vs. Science

So, I come from a very religious family (close and extended). I was kind of the black sheep and never really went or gave a damn. It was merely a waste of a morning and a waste of time. I have been going to church more recently because my local "rich people" resort has a deal where if you bring a church bulletin you get a $10 lift ticket.

Anyway, ive been doing some research for school and realized that there were many civilizations that were thriving during the time of "the great flood". I did a little more digging and found out that none of them (in very detailed record) mentioned a life ending flood that plagued the earth.

So i did some more searching and the same idea applies to evolution. Now, evolution is about 98% proven and some loose ends are being tied up where as In the bible it says god created a man and a woman and that was that.

Now here is my issue. I want to beleive that their is a higher power for self help. But fuck, man. Science is proof.


I want any and all proof no matter what you beleive. I dont care if you dont beleive or hail satan. And dont pull the whole "well dont beleive this, beleive this"

In 2014 scientists came within a fraction of a second of the echoes of the Big Bang. A very significant find. However they were told to keep tight lipped about it and only speak of it too their colleagues.

What do you mean came within fractions of a second?

Proof the government told em to keep quiet? How long did the quiet last?

They're still quiet about it. They were able to locate the Big Bang and come very close to reaching it as it continuously expands. When interviewed scientists told they were too keep quiet about their discoveries by higher officials. I am not sure if it is government or not. But a higher power told them to keep quiet and do not discuss their finds with others. And that was confirmed by the scientist that were working on the Big Bang.

Just looked it up. You're an idiot. The small team kept the initial findings a secret so that they could present the findings in full without other scientists jacking their hard work, picking up the research at 90% and publishing the final findings themselves.

That is literally what the team leaders and individuals said.

That is totally a normal practice.

They discovered waves that were created in the milliseconds after the big bang. I still don't understand the importance of that. It is cool though.

Do you think the govt should allow pharma companies to sell a cancer cure for exorbitant prices, to offset the financial loss of treating vs curing?

Also, how much power does big tobacco still have these days? I was under the impression they had been knocked down a step or two. No?

While he does love to argue, he's 100% justified in asking for strong evidence to back up your equally strong claim. You are the one making the claim, therefore you need to provide evidence for such a claim. And profound claims require profound evidence. He's simply challenging your weak, or entirely lack of, evidence. If what you claim was actually true, then there would be something in reality you could point to to back it up.

I mean yes tobacco companies are less powerful than they were in the 80s but not medical company's have taken their place. Take the Martin Shkreli for instance raising the price of a drug that helped fight HIV all for profit...
