SLAPP

Slvsh just released their new app called SLAPP. Only for apple right now, but according to comments they are working on android and it'll be done soon.

Its really sick, sorta a combination of instagram and the NS video section. More instagram like tho. You can have followers, post clips of your skiing, and like other people's clips. The thing is tho, you only post one trick in a clip. which is fine since there is only one trick in the world. I do wish there were a way to comment on things, but i bet they are not doing that to avoid shit talking.

stoked signed up quick and grabbed the user name "dan" def gonna be uploading some clips once the snow happens.

Maybe everyone else knows what's up but it took me a little while to find a way to get my videos from my computer to my iPhone. I finally figured out I could upload them from my computer into an album on Google Photos and then save them to my camera roll from there.

If anyone was having the same issues as me I hope this helps!!! I'm sure there's more than one way to do. Oh by the way give me a follow @milk_man

2 ways we like to transfer videos.

Dropbox- Download the dropbox app. Allows for easy upload on your computer to easy download on your phone. This is our preferred method.

iMessage- Just drop the 10 second clip into your iMessage on your computer to yourself. Then save on your phone. In your messages you will have two of the same video. One sent and one received. Save the video that was sent, we find it to have better quality.

Will "photographers" in the app be able to upload photos?

There seems to be some confusion and what right and left lip is. I see right lip back twos with people coming in on both sides. I was confused when I posted mine but I figured right lip meant you came in on the right, but some people thought it meant right foot lip

I was just reading a post about something sort of similar to this, but in skateboarding, suggesting the addition of a donation button, and it got me thinking.
I see some huge potential to build this out to be a whole new platform in skiing, one that could learn a lot from the E-sports and video game world (hold your judgement and read on).

Videogame streamers make good money from subscriptions and donations. Implementing a similar system in skiing has the potential, IMO, to put money straight into the hands of people creating the content we as viewers want to see.

Would be sick to see.

How so? Google play store has a one time fee of $25, Apple app store is $99 annually.

It really just comes down to programming and usually apps for iPhone get put out or updated first for whatever reason. I forsee that changing in the future as the user base of android continues to grow while iPhone sales stay somewhat stagnant. Although shit apps like Snapchat seem to have no intention of changing to cater to android users at all, but what's new, that app has always been half assed from the start.

It would be cool if you could add the location too. So you could see what has been done in a specific spot or resort for example.

I 100% completely love this app and check it every day. The only thing I would like to see are lines or short edit, shorter than 1-2 minutes. A separate section for these types of videos as well

Quick update -- we're beta testing the android version this week and should have it live in the Play Store very soon if all goes well. We'll also be announcing how SLAPP will be tied into SLVSH this winter.

That's not good! Can you just make sure that the email was written correctly and that the verification didn't end up in spam / junk?

Hell yea. Still disn't even show up for me in the store when I searched "slapp," I had to search for "slvsh" to find it. Also the app is crashing 100% of the time when I try to switch tabs on the home page.

Once it gets some more downloads it should jump up in the App store and hopefully be the first search result. The official name is actually "Slapp - A Mobile Ski Community" if you need to search & find it right away.

I sent that bug to our developer to look into it -- hopefully we can get that ironed out today. Thanks for the feedback!
