don't make the mistake i did and get skis that are to small. im 6' and on 165 TM's and its ok but definatley would be nicer to have longer skis. get big skis.

Landings too, but people are overdoing the long ski thing these days. Yea long skis are nice, but i say measure yourself and look for a ski about your height. Its worked for people for years, so why change it?

more stability... the big thing is BIGGER ROOM FOR ERROR. That's why all these pansies get long skis. Because when they overrotate corks or flips, or if they fuck up in any way... they have more room to land back seat and not bail. AND they have more sliding area for rails. They're just overcompensating. GET SHORT SKIS. they allow you to spin faster, and give you more control. Don't let your skis control YOU. SHORT IS GOOOOOOOOOD

yeah the big question is if you're still growing. On one hand you don't want a pair of skis that are way too long, and on the other hand you don't want some that are good for now but are going to be way too short after a growth spurt. I got 165 pocket rockets when I was 17, then for some reason grew an inch and a half, and then they were way too short. Now I'm on 170 msp's and I've really noticed a difference. Maybe demo some pairs and find out what lengths are good for you, then go with the longest that are still fun to ski on, that way you'll have some room to grow.
