I Got Pulled Over In Ohio And...

So late last week into the weekend I drove from Mt Hood back to Buffalo, NY after a summer at Windells and all that good stuff. (K crew for life baby) I was on day 4 of 4 of my trip home when I got hung up in some stupid road work outside Toledo. After 3 and a half days of driving, as you might imagine, I was completely over it. Once I had passed the construction I opened her right up in an attempt to make up some lost time. In my defense I was hardly even speeding.

Anyways, I see some flashy red and blue lights in my rearview and know I'm just about fucked ( NY plates and all ). Officer guy comes up and starts talking to me but to my surprise it's not really traffic related. Long story short, turns out the officer has a son who is getting into park skiing and he saw my collection of completely unnecessary/obnoxious stickers on my car and was intrigued. He told me that he and his son ride at BMBW and that he was trying to get him on some good skis this year and asked if I had any suggestions. (This may or may not be a surprise for the son - super rad)

So we chat for a bit and it was pretty sick actually. He told me about a recent trip out to Alta and told me all about his glory days of racing (actually really sick) and how they'd get trashed prior to races and shit like that. This officer was pretty fucking cool.

Anyways, I didn't get a ticket and had a nice conversation. If any of you Ohio kids have a dad who's a cop, odds are I met him and you have a really #RadDad and you are definitely not going to get a surprise pair of skis (wink wink).

The.FishI had never done a step up before and I guess I didn't detune enough. I told my ski shop to not sharpen them but they did anyway.


You sound like the "typical" BMBW park skier you are bashing on.

No the difference is that I actually try to progress. One time the park crew built a like 6 inch gap between a box and the kicker to keep the kids off and the kids built a bridge out of snow to connect the box. I went home after I saw that.

you should drive to peek n peak and ski an actual park

its really worth it.

They do that because they're either not good enough or scared to try something like that. Next time you see something like that, maybe give the kids a hand! Take some laps with them and help them learn the right way to do stuff(: Odds are that they just have no idea what they're doing and you can change that! Maybe you'll even become homies and have a sick crew to ride with!

I went like 3 years ago before I started park since they decided to open up for a final weekend and they got like 4 inches of freshies. I would go to pknpk but the problem is that I can't justify spending that much money and gas to go. I can't even hit every feature on my hill. I would probably only go for the jumps and airbag tbh. I am going to copper over winter break so I will be able to see an actual park.

So did my resort lol. Well they got rid of the one weekend it came. Tbh when I went to holiday valley for the first time I realized that I only ski park because it is boring to do anything else on 200 vertical. I became obsessed with tree skiing.

I agree with this. For how small the hill is and how shitty the conditions are the park is still pretty solid 75% of the 2 months that it's open

The.FishI am sorry but BMBW pisses me off. The staff and the riders. Only skiers there that aren't douche bags are e~b, rparr, and skierfromohio and maybe 10 more at max but they aren't on NS


u gotta chill lol even though it sucks in quality it's still fun as fuck. We loved riding bw because we had a good community there. The only people we ever fucked with were people who took it too seriously
