Why do you ski?

Genuinely interested. Doesn't need to be more than a few words or a sentence if you don't want. Was having this conversation on the lift the other day and got mad #inspired

I ski for a multitude of reasons.

At the top I would say freedom/ expression. No rules, just you and the mountain and your thoughts. Its extremely meditative for me, really gets me in the moment and loose track of the rest of the worlds problems.

I really love the community of skiers I've met throughout the years, so fun to share in your passion with other passionate people.

At this point in my life I think it's more like an addiction though...haha

It clears my mind. I just need that first run, and all the everyday stress is gone. Never appreciated it like this before, but now that i have a real job and a kid on the way it's just nice to get out there.

I ski because when i'm climbing up for a perfect line i look around me and i'm in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by snow, trees and mountains and it puts life and existence into perspective. how small we are compared to nature and all, it's a real meditative experience i have to admit. The skiing makes me feel powerful and in control and is just a release valve for stress and shit like that.
anyways, that's why i ski.

Because every time I ski it's infinitely fun and I love it. It's the like skateboarding, snowboarding, gymnastics, and whatever else all rolled into one. Simply the best activity/sport there is.
