What skiing phases have you gone through?

Age 11: Started skiing, cheap ski swap gear. Pizza and straightlining. Thought I was pro cause I had Columbia and Spyder

Age 12: Upgraded to old Atomic race skis. Learned to really carve

Age 13: 50/50 boxes. 180'd off every small bump. Still on old Atomics.

Age 14: Got my hands on some Masterminds. Started charging everywhere. Destroyed myself on a couple boxes. (Haven't tried one sideways since)

Age 15: Still charging everywhere. Hitting every pow stache possible. Mini gopro edits with electronic music cause Core.

Age 16: Progression - Learned consistent 3s. Holding solid grabs. Riding switch decently. Charging the whole mountain with steaze.

Age 17(this season): Less focused on spins and looking for ultimate style

2-4: Tied to a harness like a dog
5: Let out of harness and bombed my first blue
6-14: Hardcore raced, looked like a newb
15: Realized racing was torture and hit the park
16: Joined a freestyle team to progress my skills
The rest is to be determined..

About three years ago I stopped grabbing and stopped spinning above 180.

I've had the same style since I started skiing park in 2011, slightly baggy and trying to do everything smooth. I progressed really fast the first two seasons and then slowed down. 1999-2005: chilling in my moms backpack and getting my za on to being a park snake

2006-2009: Devo team/still a park snake (too stoked on skiing to care about any sort of style)

2010-2013: Racing and thinking that was the shit (dark times)

2013- 2014: Dabbling the park and learning that theres much more to a mountain than race gates and ice. Found newschoolers/Big wave of stoke on Pettit and his style.

2014-2015: Just shredding picking up whatever style worked. Tried to copy ABMs style quite a bit as well as Joss's style

2015-2016: Big filming phase, made a movie with my friends, lots of super proof and faction collective inspiration.

2016-2017: Just moved out here to UNR and Tahoe to go ski and go to school. Joined the freeride team so now I'm getting into the big mountain thing a bit more and trying to do my own thing style wise. Have some filming goals but idk if thats going to happen.

Hype

I am riding the trashparty very hard right now and probably will for the next few years. Binge watched thier edits over the summer and thought to myself, this is where skiing should be. Fast and aggressive park riding with weird tricks and flawless edge control landing every trick with skis touching each other. It's also a great way for me stop wearing baggy outerwear because that feels really awkward for me.

2003-dad pushed me down the street. ski or die kid
2004-2010- still learning, cheap family so skied on old thrift store finds
2011-2014- got better, ripping blacks and carving like a motherfucker, still on rentals/thrift store gear, hit some bigger mountains (Sutton, St. Mortiz, PCMR), awkward selfconcious dweeb, stayed out of park b/c didn't want to look like a gaper
2015-2016-first pair of twin tips, started hitting the park the only time I got out (shitty winter)
this winter-who knows, gonna learn some shit

4-13 - Average kid skiing side trails and side booters working my way up to blacks and double blacks on used straight skis
14 - Learned what a "drop" was. thought i could get sponsored if I tried to ski mogul run under the chair "fast"
15 - 17 ski instructor dork also trying to hit drops and spin
18 - 20 Okay, no more drops and spinning, just skiing.
20 - present: skimo dork
