Jesus Christ you can't say anything nice on here without somebody coming in and saying some dickhead comment. Sure, I never saw him box, but what I do know is that he was an inspiration off the ring for lots of people, including an old family friend who recently lost his life. I don't think it's a problem that I'm honoring his life and all the lives he changes and shaped. If you think that I'm trying to look like I care it's because I do care. He played a large role in my life and I just wanted to honor all the things he did. So how about not coming in here and whining about the title of the tread we remember who Muhhammad was and all the great things he did.

He would defiantly not wanted to be remeberered solely for boxing. I admire Muhammad for choices he made that I find courageous, smart and unique. But I don't give a shit about boxing

I actually kind of agree with you here. Some people may be genuinely sad about his death but i feel like a lot of people are just posting stuff about Ali to get likes. Im all for remembering and paying our respects to people who pass, but when it becomes more about yourself than the person who just died, thats when it gets fucked up.

Not to mention he is THE most recognizable person in the world.

I agree with the notion many are milking it for likes but you guys really don't understand how big of an impact this guy had on our country and the entire world. there is a fucking reason he is talked about in history books more than any other athlete (besides Jackie Robinson).

I have to agree with the original SJW

It is sad that he passed and he did do a lot of good outside of boxing that he will always be recognized for. But all over my Twitter there are a bunch of 15-18 year old girls who are tweeting about Muhammad as if they like boxing or have a clue what he did.

SJW is right, those young girls tweeting most likely don't know anything and Ali was in his prime years before they were even born.

I don't care if you post something, but all the girls do this. They did it when Prince died and acted like the listen to Purple Rain everyday. It is sad that these people leave but they will post anything just to be relevant.


On that note my dad boxed when he was a kid and loved Ali, so since my dad doesn't go out and post stuff like that but still is sad about the event, RIP Ali

Youre looking at this kinda wrong. Ali changed the shit for sure, no questions. He changed how race is spoke of in our country. No where near the likes of MLK but he had an impact for better or worse.

That was a long time ago. Ali impacted all of our lives indirectly. The people you mention very likely had a more direct impact on a lot of our lives.

Im 28 and have never seen an Ali fight. Heard maybe one or two excerpts of him speaking. CR and Shane? I have made conscious everyday life decisions with those two are the forefront of my thoughts. Never have I done that with Ali...im sure 99% of NS has done the same. Maybe youre that 1%. If so, great for you. Understand that we all live differently and have different influences.

Ali has impacted my life the same way Ghandi has. For the better? Sure, maybe. Directly in my decisions? Hell no

Ive been with a black girl for years now...if it was up to Ali i would stay with whites and her with blacks. Chew on that in your brain
