having owned both (2013 chronics in 171 and 2015 blends in 185) the blend is way more soft and buttery, slightly heavier given the width, and I assume abit less stable at the same length. The chronic was a bit stiffer but not too much, and was a bit easier to throw around (could be either length of waste width effecting it).
Construction wise they are pretty much the same ski with different dimensions and flex, If you want all mountain and powder performance, or just like to butter around a lot, get the blend. If you want a park ski and would rather spin a lot and have more support, go with the chronic
For 50/50 park all mountain - chronic
Any more all mountain - blend
I have chronics but they are my pure park driver and I love them, but if I had to be out of the park with them a lot, I would pick the blend just for the versatility
