This season was a let down

My home hill closes tomorrow, this whole season has been pretty rough for the east, last year I skied my first day on November 25th and my last day on April 14th, this year my hill didn't get open till the second week of January and now they are already closing, El niño has hit the east coast hard and it sucks. As a whole tho I progressed a lot and was happy to ski a few times than none. Anyone else in the same boat?

Mine was a let-down also. Resort closing Sunday. Even cancelled our pondskimming contest. Can't wait to head to the beach in April for the summer again

I just started riding park in the last few weeks because the side country was so sic all year. Nice when freshies keep you from jibbing. I have mad sympathy for you east coasters this year tho.

This winter has been pretty good. February was a total let down but i got to ride some great storms in December and January and really gained a lot of confidence skiing steeps and trees.

December was a bust. As was the first half of January. Then we had great conditions for 2 weeks before it went to shit. Then it cycled between -10 one week and then 60 the next. This cycle continued for all of February. My mountain closes either Sunday or next weekend. I had more than a month of skiing left this time last year. My mountain opened on the 23rd of December.

Ive had my fair share of horrible depressing seasons and deepest snow I have ever seen. Last year was the biggest let down, but comparing it to Ontarible skiing and quebec ice, it wasnt so bad. It was just a shitfuck year.

Just makes you appreciate the good years a little more.

My local hill opened like a month late and will close soon. they were pretty good at managing the very very little snow that fell overall. However, i still really feel like this season was a let down. The picture is from a couple of days after christmas. It was basically only slopes and the park didn't even officially open until the first week of january. Locals say there hasn't been a winter this bad since '89. (This is Italy btw)

7 Springs riders: They're open next weekend. The backside is most likely closed for the season but park crew will try to make a nice beard setup or blast setup. Mashed potato meltdown is rumored to be April 16th (wtf)

That remind me of Kelowna that built a ski center in the Okanogan desert.

Heard that as well. I don't know how it's gonna be that late. Do you think this weekend will be closing weekend? I'll be in FL this weekend, and was hoping to get one more weekend when I got home.

Yea, you're probably right. Yesterday was such a depressing day to my last day of the season. Skied for 4 hours, then it started raining sideways

My first 2 weeks of skiing, I skied in a tall t. In late December. Then the weather cycled between being 60 degrees one weekend, then -10 the next. One day, we got 3 feet of snow overnight. It was mostly gone after a few days. The conditions were complete garbage for the majority of the season. It seriously pisses me off how shitty this year was. This time last year I had a month of skiing left. My mountain closes this Saturday.

Sorry for the rant. Just have some late season PMS.

February blew hard but we'll probably still make it to mid to late May. It just dumped a foot and snowpack is about average so we'll see how the rest of March and April goes. I dont think I had a single deep pow day in February but December and January were lit as fuck so hopefully it picks back up

Season was definitely a big let down. But I think it was my attitude that really fucked it for me. I complained about everything and didn't try anything new all season up until these last two weeks. I realized I was being a big fucking baby and went hard. Still have at least a week left here at shitty Camelback and I'm just gonna make the best of it and try a bunch of new tricks. Hopefully I can make it to Big Boulder a few more times before they close as well.

Generally by the end of ski season I'm ready for spring/summer and everything that comes with it, but this year I'm not ready to be done at all. Such a bummer, home park closed a week ago. Only got about 2 months to ski, and had so much fun that I really wasn't ready for it to end. Countdown to next season is on.
