I have been having some trouble with the forward pressure on my fks 140s and was wondering if some of you nsers could post some picks of your bindings and how there forward pressure is set
the heel has two rough spots on the bar that goes next to the heel. when the binding is engaged. put your boot in the bindings and the bar should tighten with a screwdriver to where the the larger bar connected to the dildo thing is in between the two rough spots on the smaller part of the binding connected to the rest of the binding that goes to the ski.
Hopefully that made sense. if not, just take it to a tuning shop and they can explain it better. Also, ive always been told to keep track of how much you tighten the screw on the forward pressure and do it the exact same amount of tightening on each side.
on the rear of the heel piece there's a little white tab that slides back and forth as you adjust forward pressure. On either side of this tab there are little marks in the plastic. When the forward pressure is correct the back of the white tab lines up with the marks. At least this is what it's like on the 185's. Probably the same on the 140's though.
VinnieFhere. See the white tab and the two little raised marks on either side? With your boot clicked in the back of that tab lines up with those marks.
The white tabs get you to a general area of proper forward pressure. normally they require a bit more fine adjustment to be perfect.
liamskis24How would you do that fine adjustment to make them perfect?
It's honestly just kind of guess and check and by inspection. Just the way the dildo snaps up, how much friction when you twist the dlido with the boot clipped in, and the angle of the dildo.

Also op, gear talk
meh, most of the time that will be adequate on a new pair of properly mounted bindings. I mean it was added to the design specifically for determining the proper amount of forward pressure.

Yea, I've just had multiple pairs where the tab was lined up, but I was pre releasing/having a sticky release. So I adjusted them slightly and they were $$$$

Shinbangs got this one. I've actually never had the tab on the line for an ASTM test, always a little 'tight' to get proper release.
According to the manual, (paraphrasing): with your boot clicked in, it should be difficult to twist the turntable..
It's all by feel if you're not doing a full test
