How to get balls to try rails and jump?

So ive been riding twintip skis for 2 years now and want to start doing tricks and such. However always when i want to jump i just stop right before it. I have helmet and back protection however im scared all the time, i get mad at my self everytime becouse i want to jump and do those tricks you know but i always get scared and not jump :c

any tips how i can grow some balls and jump?

stop giving a fuck and just do it!!! honestly it shouldn't be THAT scary, it should be fun and energising...so maybe stop thinking about it too seriously and loosen up a bit.

start with smaller shit first obviously... if you can pop of a roller or a side hit, you can hit a small park jump or a ride on box, no excuses.

If you really want to do it, you will do it.

Start on smaller jumps and go bigger as you get confortable. And start on boxes.

You will fail sometimes, and you will need your mind to be strong enought to try again. Build your mind, its all about it.

There isnt a technique to "grow some balls."

If you really want to do it like you said then just do it and don't think about it to hard. A big part of skiing is pushing yourself to do things that are scary.

just go for it and throw it, you have a better chance of getting hurt if you bail or only go half way, if you hit the knuckle of a jump its going to hurt a lot more than sliding out on the landing

It's better to take more speed than less into jumps, also once you wipe out a few times you'll realize it doesn't hurt as much as you thought it would. The biggest thing is to commit and not bail at the last moment.

Ski with people who can do whatever you want to do, it will hype you up and you will be forced to because you will look like a pussy if you don't. Also music and booze helps

I broke both my wrists on a low flatbar. There is always a way to get hurt lol.

Be relaxed. Also remember skiing doesn't have to take a whole lot of physical effort-it's all about finesse. Visualize a specific thing that you want to complete, both from the point of view of someone watching you, and how it will look/feel when you are in the air or on a rail. As many have already said, start small, and gradually increase the size/difficulty of features you are hitting.

lol this is one thing im actually good at. honestly, just huck it. I started skiing later than most of my friends so i had to catch up. I decided to just fucking go for it, so although ive taken my fair share of falls im successful more often than not, and now im at the level I want to be. just go for it and you will be amazed with the amount of progression you see. also definitely ski with people better than you until you arent scared to hit stuff on your own, Im fine on my own now but i still do better and more with some friends.. just huck man, good luck

Just put your mind to it. If you just say "I'm gonna do this next run" on the lift, you aren't gonna try it. You need to constantly think about it, picture how its gonna go in your head, and say to yourself "I'm gonna land this" over and over again. Skiing is just as mental as it is physical.

straight up when you get pumped up and throw an invert off a 20 foot jump and send it directly to ur ass it doesn't hurt it all because you're so hyped. just dip ass and send shit and you'll get nasty.

To be quite honest, most of the "more speed = easier" and "just send it, it's impossible to die" suggestions are for people that are about 90%-95% of the way there on a particular trick. It doesn't matter if you bail or not, if your body doesn't have the trick down, you WILL screw up. The trick is coming to terms with that.
You know that thing where you're on the slopes for a week trying to get a trick down, you keep failing, then you're away for a good two weeks, you come back and you suddenly just land it? Then it suddenly becomes easier to speed up and land it even better? It's really all just muscle memory and really odd ways that your body learns.
But understand in the beginning you are supposed to struggle. More speed most of the time (especially when you are completely new to the park) does not equal easier. Like most suggest just start tiny. Go as slow as you need to. Suddenly you'll start landing it and the speed and "don't give AF-ness" will carry you over that last mile.

It took me a while to get the balls to do 9s off a big jump. What helped me the most was a super tramp to get a lot of air. I hope this helps!
