Just made my first drop in, pretty basic. Made out of half of a pallet, a single 2 x 4, two hinges, rope and I hooks. its pretty ugly but it's strong, compactable, light and can be thrown in the back seat of pretty much any car. The hinged legs really help because at its lowest setting it can be set at around 2 feet high and its highest setting can be adjusted to around 3 and a half feet high. Just figured I'd share for anyone looking to make one and any feedback is helpful.
PNayrCmon guys I'm trying my best out here, its not flawless but it's enough for the urban spots in my area

looks like a sick concept dude, if I were you id make it a bit longer for more speed and I would maybe try to beef it up a bit. but good for you to get the ball rolling, you have some interesting ideas, stick with it man!

the point of uban drop ins are for just enough speed to get on a rail and small enough to be portable, look at every OG tom wallisch video, quit bashing on his drop in it looks good and effective
I know there is a lot of criticism and jokes going around this thread but don't take that as negative feed back. its a positive if they tell you what is wrong with your idea, or what their opinion is on it. you have to admit its really not the nicest or sturdiest lookin piece of work, but hey its a prototype right lol when dudes say it looks like shit, laugh it up, don't take it to seriously, it just means you need to put some more work into it. Put some more time into it and fix up the problems. or if it works for you and that's all that matters leave it be.

So the only way that triangle stays is the string between the two planes? Seems like a lot of stress just for the string, but it might be able to handle it.
If you are trying to improve, have you thought about mounting the drop in plane flush so it looks like an L and then put the hinge in the inside corner of the L. Then once you open it, it will have the back stop of the other plane, thus eliminating the string.
