IStrangeSo i'm finally getting new skis after 6 years on a pair of elans and I'm not looking to spend a ton on them. I had looked at either 2015 future spins or 2016 park blanks from surface and was looking for a comparison/ suggestion. The future spins only come in 174 and the blanks in 180 and I am 6'
Can't speak from experience with the future spins but since they are line you pretty much know what you are getting. Personally I would probably go with the chronics or masterminds over those just because of the fact that they perform slightly better outside of the park but if you are looking at a pure park ski the future spins are probably a good option. However, at 6 feet, 174 is going to be too small for you unless you weigh like 140 lbs.
As far as the blanks go, I'm on a pair of double times from surface right now and the blanks look very similar in design. To be honest, although surface says that they are so inexpensive just because the graphics and design are stripped down, I don't buy that they are the same quality as other products. If money is the concern, I would definately look at some of last years models from surface, line, moment, etc. and get a higher quality ski for a big discount.
