do any fellow newschoolers have the abilities and are bored? heres the story... on december 2nd I am showing my oil paintings at a local concert venue for a month. The show goes up and i have two local to new england bands playing. theirs nothing to be made out of me doing it but its good artwork, people enjoy them, and i need the exposure terribly. so a friend made a poster for the event. If i had the abilities to do ANYTHING artistic on the computer i would... but i cannot. my question is does anyone have the time to throw something up quick? i will pay it forward when i have the abilities. heres what we have so far. keep the info, but i would like just an entirely different layout. variety yadig?

I don't want to sound rude. I also don't want to stop others from contributing... But killabees, this is a perfect opportunity for you to learn how to use photoshop. As daunting as it looks, it really isnt that difficult to master the basics. I have little experience meshing photos (as seen on NS).
There are millions of tutorials on youtube teaching beginner to advanced techniques. You can spend an afternoon and pull something half decent together.
It's your show man, try to put something together that resembles your theme, your art and the venue.
90% of this stuff is is cut and paste, blending layers and feathering edges. You can also download fonts and load them into photoshop to make your life even easier.
JAHpowI may dink around on indesign and photoshop for ya. I'll see what I can come up with.

I KNOW! but dude its tight right now, time and money... I just took one show down in nh brought it home, painting 60 hours a week and framing when i can slow down from painting. i have 7 more paintings i have to frame before this show opens. I absolutely know what you mean i neglected this shit for my entire highschool and college career and it would come in clutch right now, but i focused on my craft, and hopefully kind people will help it out, and work on their craft. this world goes round and round and unfortunately i probably wont get around to photoshop. I would recommend getting GIMP, completely free editing software, available on pc and mac. It's difficult to get the hang of at first but just play around for a while, learn the basics and what all the buttons mean, and then you should be set. Plus it works in a format similar to professional photo editing software so if you at some point want to put money into that, you won't have to start over with learning.

I do not know how much you paid people to digitally reproduce your artwork. But funny you should mention that, because that is how I got into both photoshop and photography. If you have (or can borrow) a half decent DLSR, bright lights and a white sheet. I can teach you how to take photos yourself for cheap. If you put in the effort to take photos and learn, I'll put in the effort to critique your stuff. I know you're busy with your craft now but feel free to PM me whenever you have time. Good luck

I really like this outline/style. I've been trying to do more ads like this for our events but never can put it all together to look like I want. This is sick though!
