how in the hail does someone get aquatinted with the pipe like dropping in, transitions, and take offs?

make sure you feel comfortable with carving and riding on your edges because pipe skiing is the closest skiing will get to competing on complete ice

start by just riding into the pipe normal (no drop in) and carving up the sides

get a little closer to the top each time and when you feel comfortable, hop while you're mid carve

start jumping a little above the top of the pipe and going for length not air

after a while it'll feel natural and then you can start working on getting air above the pipe

as for dropping in, its not that hard just drop in about half to 3/4 the way up the angles beginning of the pipe
