Thoughts on the New Shredsauce...

Salutations boys and girls.

First of all, I would like to thank malcolm for making a huge shredsauce update that has lots of potential. Although right now its pretty fucking fucked. Don't wanna be a hater but I'm going to hate really hard so sorry in advance. The new update wasn't really an update it was more of a whole new game that is just a lot worse. If I'm correct, the point of the new update was to make the game look more realistic but personally i think it did the exact opposite. Let me just list of a couple things that could use some work.

- turning/spinning/stopping/butters/popping (pretty much all movements) are quite delayed and it feels like you don't have enough control with anything really.

- most of the grabs are a lot worse now EXCEPT FOR BLUNT THAT SHITS DOPE

- for some reason you stop on most rails and there is no flow with sliding

- when you try to do a cork 3 you just spin really fast off the lip and end up doing a 7. (same thing with flips)

- a lot harder to get realistic axis on rodeos and other flips

- seems like there is too much animation

- arms don't move with shifty's

I know this will get quite a bit of hate but it needs to be brought up because i don't want to see one of my favourite games go to shit. Once again thank you malcolm for putting so much time and effort into this update. It just need a little work done.

The camo pants can stay tho.

But seriously, this is a big improvement. Everything may not be as good as it was, but the game is going in the right direction.
Except from the delay of certain flips or off axis shit (which you probaly will get used to pretty quickly) the biggest problem for me was that you can't shuffle when landing. Although sw dub nines to nosepress is pretty sick.
double wobbles is the shit rn and dub 12 blunts look sick

btw shredsauce.com/bdog still exists

I dont have many complaints except for i cant play or find out how to play the OG level... sharing and playing user created levels is sick but the original was the best.

@op, I agree with most: rails are sticky everynow and then, even boxes.
Animation wise, the shifty is lacking arm movement, yes, and the switch stance doesn't look as good.

For air tricks I had no problem with cork 3s, and any other trick tbh, they feel much more real now with the fact that you keep turning even if you let go of the direction button. I like it.

But guys come on, there is so much more good stuff about the update than little bugs that will get fixed, i'm sure: The new level creator is just DOPE. I mean unreal shredsauce maps are about to be made, stuff is gonna be crazy. The butter looks weird but kinda cool, just need to master using it really. The presses are dope.

My main concern right now a part from the few bugs, is the level creator. Can we please please please have a way to load code saved maps onto the new version? I have some maps where I put over 20h of work in them, would suck if I wasn't able to play them....oh and where are the trees in the level creator?? And it'd be dope if you added some rocks too, that way we can actually make legit bc maps with the terrain former.

the visuals are really good, big up malcolm. itll just take getting used to and im sure he'll do tweaks. overall good update. butters are sick and the shiftys are ill. suggestion box: octograbs and an afterbang button

I think if he just added the butters and the press along with the new park editing tools to the old one with the same old format it would be fire. the new format is annoying cause as far as I know you can't load old maps into it and i cant find the original map on the new version to play which sucks

Anyone else having problems with the new butters? When I go to butter in a certain direction i get blasted off to that side. For example i'll be wanting to just do a little butter to the left but continue moving down, instead I will do the butter but move way over to the left. That only started happening this morning..

I agree 100% with OP. I dont like how after you let go of a button while turning you keep turning a bit. Makes it really hard to get onto rails. I like the idea of the new update and understand its a work in progress but ill keep playing the old version for now.

that shit is dope, at first the rails were sticky asf but now it works perfectly, i think all grabs are as cool/cooler than they were (especially the blunt), butter are dope as hell, but the spinning and flipping is obviously not as great as they were
overall the update is sick and the maps are insane in the brain

Holy shit the rails are crazy glitchy. Some are fine but others always shoot you off far to the side. Also new maps suck and we need to be able to input codes from old maps. Put in the og map. Also nose grabs are needed for sure. That's a fundamental grab that is missing. Also you spin way too fast when you pop out of a butter. I will try a nose butter 2 onto the rail and I'll butter 180 and pop to spin another 90, but I'll end up doing a nose butter 6...

Almost forgot... You slide off of rails too easily.

A lot of you need to realize that the new game is incredibly young. Malcom knows what's wrong with it and will fix the tweaks. The new game is 10 times better than the old one and has a lot more potential. Just give it a bit and it'll be refined.

Yeah its nice that we got an update but it seems like spinning is unstoppable, cant butter onto features easily or butter around landings, grabs are fine still. It does have potential but right now its meh. All I wanted for an update was maybe a few custom levels of slopestyle courses and a new default map, I was just getting nasty at the OG shredsauce and now Im shit.

I have a 2010 mac book pro it works fine for me.
The update is hard to control kinda but i think it takes some getting used to thats all i think its sick especially those butters

Is it just me or does it seem like the rails were fixed? The first day they were so awful and now they seem pretty regular! If so props to Malcolm for fixing so quick!!

spinning off of the rails is definitely more realistic now though and I kind of like it. It makes it a little more of a challenge and it looks better. As with the rest of what you said, I agree.

Totally happy with the update , the only thing wich is kinda annoying is that whenever you butter you simply do an 45° turn , cant du pops to butter anymore

If you want to butter onto a rail/jump without turning to the side, just aim to where you want to go, hold n (but don't turn), and then turn when you're at the lip

But honestly, so much more realistic small movements. Instead of just rotating the way you press, small leans on carves, and looking over the shoulder when landing switch, you actually see a bunch more complicated small movements which makes the game seem so much more realistic and so much less robotic and formulaic.

You see more lean into carves and turns that involve the knees. The scissoring is more realistic as well as the pop and spin out of rails. Instead of just having a slight hop, the entire body is involved. You see the legs straighten and transfer the energy through the whole body from the ankles to the shoulders.

Just really makes it seem less like a game and more like a reality.

Oh and the structures of all the features are less blocky and precut and more realistic.

So such a great feel to the game... but some problems unfortunately.....

i like the new one but i just tried playing the old one again and i just seem to stomp everything perfect, when ive been landing sideways a lot in the new one. maybe its just because i was so used to the old one

tab marker shoud be set where you're facing and not just downhill, reason for that is because some of these sick maps are on course towards the side of the hill

agree with pretty much all of that, His butters and overall style when landing is improved. The main screen of levels is also clutch, but still a ton of stuff that needs to be fixed.Still a fan of the old shred as of right now
