Replying to Summer reading assignments - fake annotating

so ns im sure theres a few kids out there that have to read a book over the summer and do other stupid assignments. normally you can just get online summaries and write the essay just fine. ive tried to read the book but i hate reading and i get overwhelmed with other things.

so basically a part of the assignment is to annotate the book. This is for ap literature lol. so i randomly write words and underline anything that pops out to my naked eye.

so does anyone else do this to get around a super long novel or do you guys actually read the book.
