I got boot fitted and I am a 28.5 in these boots I like. I want to get them now because they are on sale. I don't know if I should get a half size bigger(29) or get 28.5?

If you got fitted for a 28.5, why would you buy a 29? If anything I'd want to go smaller than I got fitted for in preparation of them packing out.

My guess would be that it's because OP and his feet are still growing. That's the only possible reason you should size up, OP, if this isn't the case, and you're done growing, definitely don't get a 29 if you were fitted at 28.5. If you are still growing, then it's totally your call, and depends on how much you care about sacrificing performance and comfort while waiting for your feet to grow enough to properly fit into a size 29.

As tons of people do this to size up (even I did it) it really causes too many problems. If anything you can buy the size you need, then when your feet supposedly get too big you can punch the toe box or whatever needs to be done. Big boots just cause too many problems

Well you need a bootfitter, but depending on the boot, they can grind some of the shell, then heat it up and stretch the plastic to make room for your toe or whatever part needs stretched.
I'm not sure where you live but the inkline down in salt lake is really really good and that's where I have my boots fitted

Totally agreed. I'm not saying I'm recommending him getting boots a half-size too big, because I don't, I'm just saying that his reasoning for potentially doing so is probably that he'll grow into them someday.
First off op a 28.5 to a 29 is a full size bigger not half a size. A 28 an. 28.5 will use the same shell so there are no half sizes in shells.
What at boot were you fitted into and what type of fitting were you recommended. With nearly any boot you will need some form of surport under the foot. This may be a simple insole like a superfeet but Idealy you would go full custom. With the insole/footbed your foot may well get shorter/narrower meaning you may even be able to get into a smaller boot.
Best at advice we can give you is go to a good fitter and have him do it all. Never but boots online. The fittibg costs you could incur by buying online may well make your "cheap" boots cost more in the long run.

are they on sale in the shop whic fitted you? Don't buy a boot online always from a shop but this time of year you may find some deals it just depends on the stock levels. how old areyou btw and what size shoes do you wear normally?
