Produced my first demo reel for class this year and wanted to get some feedback on it. I know it has some flaws and isn't the sickest one of the sicker one's that you see on NS (I'm a high school senior) but just wanted to see what people think! Thanks. https://vimeo.com/127858796
Filming was really great but i felt the editing was a little predictable. In my opinion you synced the video with the music a little too much. Also some of the shots from like 1:20 - 1:30 didn't really fit and were a little off, but overall one of the best shot reels I've seen from some one your age.
imo though get rid of the museum shots and the classroom shots, they don't really fit with the rest of the video. also there was one shot of a skier at 0:45 that wasn't great skiing and so will detract from the overall quality no matter how good the filming was, might be worth removing that. just my two cents though
on the whole sick effort, especially liked the shot from underneath the rainbow rail
Agree with R-Red, not a fan of classroom shots and the music wasn't the best, the shots, angles, and quality
with a music change and a few adjustments this would be so killer... keep it up!!!
that was solid! you could probably get rid of 10 shots in there, (most are short shots) - also I felt you had way too many shots of the guy in the intro, and also the harley shots. You had some really strong shots of the bike and if you got rid of some of the worse ones, the better of those would have really shined. Keep the gold, let the silver go. nice work!
I was surprised, by how much I liked it, I do agree with the others though about the classroom shots. Also I didn't like the flat look some of the clips had, not sure if you just didn't grade them or used a lut or whatever, but I think they would have looked better a bit more contrasty
