HacksterNeither does skiable acreage alone stand for superior quality compared to NA resorts nor are Alagna or La Grave 'underground' mountains. Most of the EU mega resorts' terrain is flat and boring and tailored towards beginner to intermediate skiers, partiular the French ones. A place like Jackson Hole easily outstrips most if not all Euro resorts when it comes down to challenging on and off piste runs.
What makes the EU resorts interesting are - aside from Italy - the non-stringent off piste policies however snow conditions are less predictable and often worse, dumps are usually less frequent than for example in North America.
All that said my personal favorite lift served mountain is the Pointe Helbronner above Courmayeur in Italy for it's variety of steep and challenging off piste terrain with up to 7500 ft sustained vertical.

ozzywrongBTW if you think Jackson hole.. is better than a resort like Verbier.. you are retarded..
Les Arcs is 15 x the size of Jackson.. so is the 3 valleys.. so is Verbier.. So is Zinal, so is Engleburg ,so is Gsstad so is St Anton.. Ect. Ect. the amount of terrain accessible of these Euro mega resorts is restarted.. Come to Val Torrens on a pow day and I will show you what I am talking about..
ozzywrongIf you think most of the Euro mega resorts are flat and boring you must be smoking a lot of crack... Algana is undergrouns.. as for Courmayeur I have never skied there.. next winter..multiple film trips are planned for Italy for sure.
Lord_Byronhow many hours watching MTV does it take to end up like you?

Lord_ByronAnyone who thinks any NA skiing is the best in the world is very very wrong.
rossiskier93Ever heard of Alaska? I think some pros may disagree with your statement...
Also who are you to say what is the best in the world? Much of Europe is above treeline. If I enjoy skiing trees the most then there are certainly places in NA that compete and outshine Europe
