Hello NS,
It's been awhile since I bought new gear so I'm kind of out of the loop, but I'm looking to buy some new skis and boots for next season.
I currently have 172cm line afterbangs as my park ski.
I am looking for another pair for carving, trees, and all mountain exploring that can handle some speed.
I ski mainly VT/ME but would like a ski that won't be useless for the occasional trip out west.
With that in mind I believe the Volkl Bridge is appropriate.
--Does the rocker reduce its carving ability on hardpack?
--I am 5'5" 130lbs should I go with the 163 or 171?(leaning towards 163-- unless the rocker really makes it ski short)
--Any other models I should look into?
Regarding boots, I have solomon SPKs from 2010, but would like to get something stiffer and appropriate for all-mtn. Obviously I will go to a local store to try a bunch, but it would be great if you could just name a couple of solid models for slightly wider feet & a flex of 100~ 110, just so I can do some initial research before heading checking them out at stores.
I don't really have budget as it has been so long since I bought ski gear.
Any advice would be really really appreciated.
Thanks!!
