bnewbs6I don't know if this is true, but the article says that she did not even know who the officer was when she posted it.
Direct quote from article, "Pawluck testified in late February she posted the snap to the photo-sharing social media site without even knowing who Lafreniere was."
thats only part of the quote.
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/montrealer-woman-convicted-of-harassment-for-posting-anti-police-graffiti-on-instagram/article24096405/
"Pawluck, now 22, testified in late February she posted the snap without even knowing who Lafreniere was. She conceded the image was not “peaceful” in nature but that she’d sent it as a statement against police in general – not one officer in particular."
"His name was scrawled on the graffiti and his name spelled two different ways was among the hashtags added by Pawluck, including an anti-police tag #acab – which stands for all cops are bastards."
"A smirking Pawluck left the courthouse repeating ”no comment” as a friend shielded her from cameras. Her lawyer, Valerie De Guise, also declined to speak."
this isnt just some girl, she is apparently a known and active member of the student protests, and this girl didnt JUST post a photo to instagram, she posted a photo of a particular police officer being shot in the head very graphically, including his name, anti police sentiment, and apparently had posted multiple other images with threatening and violent messages towards police.
dont get me wrong, posting something to instagram shouldnt end up with criminal charges, but in this case, it wasnt JUST a post to instagram, and from the looks of it, she knows what she did and shes proud of it.
tldr: shes a dumb bitch who knows she isnt innocent, cause she isnt
