Popping help

This is my first year in the park and i havent really progressed. I can hit jumps up to 40 ft and send it deep but when going onto rails i can barely get a 90 on and off. I can barely do a 90 on the ground but my friends can almost do 360s on the ground. Any tips on how to improve popping and rotating or what I could do off of the hill to help. I run cross country and track all year so i have pretty strong legs i hope.

What really helped me is finding a line on my floor or a strip of hardwood or something that resembles a rail and I just practiced jumping 90 onto and then of or doing 270 out, k fed, lip blind 2, etc. sort of just running the motions through my head on the floor if that makes any sense at all. Just literally jump onto the rail like you would on your feet except use the jump to your advantage then turn 90 keeping you head focused on the end of the rail. This is my first year skiing and at first boxes and rails were sort of sketchy but once you practice them enough sliding them is sort of like second nature/ is just easy, unless it's like a down flat down or an s rail or box or something to that extent then it gets trickier but if it's just a flat rail/box or a straight down rail or box it's pretty easy after some practice.

Literally you'll get a good pop if you just time it right, just try to "pop" and it will happen if you time it right, you just don't really feel it

Could you possibly have really heavy skis.I could probably do rails now in racing skis but I feel like when you're first learning you should have light skis. You honestly don't need to pop it all when doing most straight on rails just kind of turn 90.You only have to pop usually when you're doing a side hit or a Higher rail.

I have volkl ledges and marker squire schizo bindings so it isn't a weight issue. I also have dabello voodoo 2011 or 2012 boots

Do you have a trampoline? If so then just practice jumping as high as you can.

Throwing 360s on flat has more to do with core strength/flexibility than leg strength. You have to transfer the energy from upper body to lower body really quick, pushing your hips around past the rotation of your shoulders.

Well i just became able to touch my toes this year because my torso to leg height ratio is tiny.

I meant torsion range for your spine/core.

People think popping has to do with ollying or something before you do a trick. Don't even think about popping off you're tails or tips unless you're specifically going for that. Just think about how you would jump and spin if you were on flat ground with no skis on. Popping is pretty much a fancy word for jumping at the exact moment you leave the lip. I mean, sure there are nollie tricks that require you to pop off your tips and whatnot, but until you can just pop normally and slide a rail, etc., there's not really any point in trying more complex variations.
