Bakerpowi mean he just kind of threw it really far. if thats what you mean by impressive then yeah. but was he throwing it to rodgers? FUCK NO. sportscenter needs to get off his sack.
He threw it exactly how he was supposed to throw it. Many QB's would have thrown it lower just to try and get it there, but Rodgers got the distance AND the height needed for the ball to just drop into the endzone and gave his receivers the best chance to get their hands on it.
Was he throwing to Rodgers specifically? No. Was it amazing? Hell yeah.
Fred_BearFudgepackers getting ghost calls from the refs again. Whats new?
This looks like a facemask to me.
When its a bang bang play like that the ref has to make a call, sure usually they try to take a "let them play approach." But the facemask was grabbed and his head turned.

I realize that a facemask will be called on that the vast majority of the time. But if you read the wording of the facemask rule it was not a facemask.
yup yup. i dunno how much of an impact it as having the vikings missing their three best defensive players but it didnt matter because the hawks d was angry about what happened to them last week. ap couldnt do anything.

*eye roll* Try being a Pats fan, homie. Every team in the league gets called against us. Hell, the opposing team's cheerleaders, fans, and hot dog buns get calls against us.
.MASSHOLE.The O-Line hasnt been good all season, but the quick passing game masked that.
They were alright, but not great, for a while, but have completely fallen apart recently. Brady can't keep getting hit like this. Such a legend, it's unbelievable to me that anyone anywhere is saying Newton deserves the MVP over Brady. Absolute insanity.

you can make a pretty strong case in his favor.......
Today Russell Wilson ran a read option against the Vikings, kept the ball outside, burned everyone and ran it in for like a 40 yard TD, it got called back for a hold on a block down field by the TE. So the very next play he gets hit in the pocket as he throws a perfect pass down the middle of the field to Doug Baldwin for the TD. It was seriously fucking amazing. He's had great moments in bigger games before but I cant think of a better highlight for Russell than today. I've been pessimistic all year but I think the Hawks are going deep this year they haven't peaked yet.
BogsPeople forget that Carolina is a really good team because of their defense, not their offense.
Let's put it this way, if you swapped Tom to Carolina, and Cam to New England, which team gets the better end of the deal?
i mean i think new england gets better...but thats pretty much a toss up for me. new england has better offensive weapons (usually). carolina has greg olsen? and you know belicheck is gonna scheme up something awesome for a qb with cams athletic ability. the game yesterday against new orleans carolinas d got diced and it was basically on cam to win the game... what did he do?

Right now Carolina has better offensive weapons, better work horse running back, better defense and agruable a qb that is just as good at tom this year. If Carolina played the pats on Sunday, I think the pats would lose
eheathRight now Carolina has better offensive weapons, better work horse running back, better defense and agruable a qb that is just as good at tom this year. If Carolina played the pats on Sunday, I think the pats would lose
I don't think any of that is even debatable, the Patriots are a shell of their former selves right now.
Losing Edelman goes beyond just the loss of a WR, it results in the complete alteration of the Patriot's offense. I am curious to see the difference in Brady's release times from the start of the year to now.
Defensively I think the Patriots match up well against Carolina's O (Collins/Chung on Olsen with the other as a spy on Newton, Hightower to stop the run, Butler to cover Ginn Jr., and Ryan to cover Cotchery) but defensively the Carolina D would smother the offense.
Kuechly would eat Chandler alive if he drops into coverage, Norman would have no issue with Amendola, Martin and Lafell are too unreliable currently, and frankly Blount seems to lack the nose he had for holes earlier in the season.
But if you add Gronk and Edelman back into the mix, that changes things.

Well yeah, I think right now the Pats would even lose to a terrible team like the Eagles...oh wait.
Glimmer of hope though when Tom went on an absolute fucking tear at the end, but still pretty disastrous. I feel bad for TV's all across New England since they took a lot of verbal abuse yesterday

Totally agree with almost everything you said, Pats are clearly a shadow of the team they were the first 8 or 9 weeks of the season right now, and the Panthers are on a roll. But Cam arguably as good as Tom? Please.
Well, lets talk about this in the sense of MVP as of dec 7th 2015
NE is 10-2, Carolina is 12-0. Advantage Cam
Cam has 7 rushing TDs and 476 rushing yards, brady has 3 td and 45 rushing yards. Advantage Cam
Brady has 3900 yard passing 63.7% on 507 attempts with 31 TD and 6 INT, Cam has 2800 yards 58% on 374 attempts, 25 TD and 10 INT. Brady has more yards because 1. he dumps it off more often to running backs (dion lewis had almost 400 of bradys passing yards this year and thats a dump off pass basically) and 2.NE is a team that relies on brady to throw the ball, but the panthers have a decent running back (and running QB) to lean on. Same with TD passes, they basically cross cancel here because cam has 7 rushing tds. But the comp % does matter in this discussion. Advantage Brady.
Brady clearly is the better passer this season, but will his numbers hold up over the next few games? compared to cam? I think right now they're neck and neck, but if the panthers finish undefeated and cam keeps on pace and brady delines, there is no doubt cam will win the MVP.

God it hurts my soul that people are thinking/writing/saying stuff like this and apparently legitimately believing it.
cam has had worse than NE quality receivers all season. ginn jr? funchess? ol man cotchery? sure olsen is a cool guy, but gronk was arguably better before goodell had him axed. jonathan stewart? is a quality solid back? wut? after 8 seasons he's not in a timeshare, yeah his numbers will improve. cams getting shit done when he needs to, MVP for sure
he hardly even pouts or wears a towel on his head anymore
BogsGod it hurts my soul that people are thinking/writing/saying stuff like this and apparently legitimately believing it.
Put your hard on for Brady away mate.... Idk how you can argue cams offensive weapons are better than new England's. For most of the season New England has FAR better recievers/rbs than Carolina. Right now I'd say it leans in carolinas favor. But just barely. Cam is doing more with less and still winning. Brady has mediocre weapons and looses two in a row....

Gronk arguably better than Olsen? Are you kidding me? There's no argument: Gronk is better than Olsen. By a lot. Tom isn't "getting shit done when he needs to?"
eheathI mean your somewhat real hard on for Brady is just like every other Pat fan, just because he's the 'best' doesn't mean he'll win mvp this year.
Oh I know he won't win because people are in love with what Cam's doing for some reason, but that doesn't mean those people are right. The popular choice isn't always the best choice.
And to actually respond to what you said in your comparison of the two:
1. There's a reason NE relies much more heavily on the passing game than the run game. When you have one of the greatest quarterbacks ever on your team, you let him throw the ball as much as possible.
2. To negate the 1000 yards Tom has over Newton because he throws the ball more is silly. He throws the ball more because, well, he's much better than Cam at throwing it. You also say it doesn't count because he dumps it to his running backs much of the time. If it was so easy to gain massive amounts of passing yards just by dumping it to your rb, why doesn't every team and qb in the league do it? Why isn't Cam gaining just as many yards by dumping it to his rbs as Brady if it's so easy? Again, there's a reason Brady has had so many passing attempts this season, and there's a reason the Pats didn't spend money to sign a big name RB, and both of those reasons are that with Brady as quarterback it'd be silly to take up cap room on a stud RB when you have one of the best of all time under center.
3. You also don't account for the fact that Tom has thrown fewer interceptions than Cam while attempting over 125 more passes. This shouldn't count for nothing.
I'm not saying Cam hasn't been great, because he has been, clearly, but to say that Brady, who is on pace for one of the best statistical seasons in the history of the NFL, doesn't deserve the MVP award over a qb with middle of the pack passing stats whose greatest assets are his size and athleticism and is on an undefeated team riding its defense seems absurd to me.
Far less absurd than saying New England with Cam is a better team than New England with Tom (looking at you, BakerPow), but absurd nonetheless.

When did I say Cam had better weapons than Brady?
Carolina's defense is better than New Englands, and they count as part of Carolinas team, and certainly count in helping Cam win games. Brady leads Cam in every statistical category apart from rush yards and touchdowns. Cam isn't doing more with less. He's doing less with less and still winning.
Brady lost two in a row missing his best wide receiver, running back, tight end, much of his offensive line, as well as Collins against the Broncos and Hightower against the Eagles, the two guys who really made that defense click. And with that the Pats still only lost to Denver because they couldn't field a punt properly.

Haha "gronk arguably better than olsen" was meant to to rustle your jimmies. Obv gronk is better, but if cams best is worse than bradys he's at least doing something, right?
Sure Brady had more passing yards, but you have to account for game flow. Cam is usually winning so he doesn't have to pass as often. Just look at his record

For sure.

If I could cheer everytime the "imperial march" came on TV I would. Brady and belichick have their dark side thing going on and personally I support it, but cam is working with shit in Carolina and doing better (record-wise)

You can! You should!
Man, it's like talking into a vacuum with you people. How many times do I have to remind y'all that defense is a thing, and Carolina happens to have a very good one that has contributed greatly to Carolina's success this season? People act like everyone else on the Panthers is a high school punk still struggling with acne. The Panthers defense is damn good, how about we give them some credit too?
Fred_BearGoodell is obviously swaying the media and voters to push for cam as mvp over brady, he has all of them in his pocket.
This skins and boys game is probably the best monday night football game in 15 years
Honestly. I got home from work and saw 3-0 with a minute left in the first half. Any nfc east matchup is gonna be god awful. Only thing I like watching in that division is odj. I feel bad he got stuck in such a shit division with an awful team. Hopefully he can make his way to a title contender and not get stuck in mediocreville like megatron.
Fred_BearGoodell is obviously swaying the media and voters to push for cam as mvp over brady, he has all of them in his pocket.
Right, we haven't even gotten into that whole side of things. You know, how Goodell and the entire NFL literally is doing whatever it possibly can to stop Brady and the Patriots from being successful, a big part of which is trying equally hard to make the Panthers and anyone else who looks like they have some kind of chance of making the Super Bowl look as good as possible. Wasn't going to mention it, but it sounds pretty silly to argue that it's harder for Cam than Tom because Cam doesn't have the weapons Tom has when Tom has to overcome the might and power of the entire NFL on every single play of every single game.

Did you see the NO game? Brees put up 38 on them, their defense is good, but their offense has won games when they needed them to.

For sure, like I said earlier, Cam has been very, very good this season, but people are acting like the only reason the Panthers are 12-0 right now is the play of Cam Newton, and this is pretty obviously very untrue.

well around here we know the truth, anyone whos into football knows a good qb is only one piece of the puzzle, I mean look at the seahawks, they won the super bowl with a petty mediocre Russle Wilson... Or the giants beating the pats twice with eli...

Well the way i look at it is there is no team that makes to 12-0 based on Luck. Its a team as a whole this year that is winning them games. Sometimes its the defence bailing out the offence. And vice versa.

Even here nobody's mentioning it. If the Panthers were 12-0 and their offense was lighting up the NFL it'd be one thing, but, as far as I can tell, they've been solid offensively but not spectacular by any means. I dunno, maybe I just haven't seen enough of Carolina's games, or I'm just spoiled by watching Brady all the time, but it feels like the only reason that Cam is in the running for MVP is that the Panthers are undefeated right now and he happens to be their starting qb. But maybe that's all that matters, I dunno.
For all you Game of Thrones fans...JJ Watt deserves the Ramsay Snow/Bolton treatment after that late hit on Brady. Fuck that guy, always talking about how clean and pure he is and how he just wants to work hard and do things the right way, then comes out of the gate delivering a cheap shot on Brady the first chance he gets. What a fucking poser.

Sports media has the most retardedly cherry picked stats ever. "X is 5-0 when the moon is a cresent and its roughly 50 degrees out with about 75% relative humidity."
