NSG, I know lots of you skate out there. I need a new deck and can't decide what to get. I'm looking at a Powell Peralta, an Anti Hero, or a Welcome.
What do you guys ride??? Tell me what to buy.
Whatever brand you like, but if you're on something skinny go wider. The best choice I ever made is going from 7.8 to 8.25. It's so much better with minimal drawbacks.

A lot of my friends have recommended trying a wider one this time around.
A blank deck in a 8.25 or maybe a 8.0 depending on the size of your feet. Have a miss printed supreem in a 8.5 and it is a pool ripper. I have a size 9.5 mens shoe and could have gone 8.25 for a little less material if I was flipping the board around more.

It's 100% better, even for small feet. I wear 7 or 7.5 shoes and the 8.25" is a major improvement over 7.8. I can't believe I was trying to land on that toothpick of a 7.8. Unless you really strive to land that quad kickflip go wider.
if you want to be an artsy cunt like me, i buy a shop blank deck for around 15$ sand the fuck out of it, and spray paint it to my disired pattern. it looks pretty cool, and if you clear coat it, it doesnt chip as much.

i have a couple welcomes on my wall but ive never skated them on account of the art being too cool. get a shovel nose anti-hero or a skate mental, or a creature, those are my personal faves.
I rode a lot of blank decks, mini minilogos, good woods, and superiors simply because they were cheap. However once I started riding creatures I realized why some boards cost more. I would skate one of the cheaper decks for maybe a week or 10 days, and by then it would've broke or lost all of its pop. I skated the same creature for the last month of the summer and it was still going strong.
I've heard good things about send help. I've been riding enjoi and they're pretty good decks but in the spring i'm trying out a clićh deck because i haven't heard many bad things about them

Well if you are thinking Powell or Welcome i would go for a shaped deck. They are a lot wider like 9.5 but they are really fun to ride compared to popsicle decks.

When I was really into skating I never left the bowl. Recently i've been on the street more. I lI've next to the skate park, so I've got pleanty of options.

Bowl skating=go wider
I wear like a size 7 and ride an 8.0 element deck so depending on your shoe size change it up a bit
Welcome boards are awesome. I have one of the slimmer ones, really durable (same wood as Anti-Hero), probs wont ever but a popsicle again for how I'm skating these days.
