was jumping over the two rescue guys and the racing skier in the beginning planned? and honestly, was that cave one sequence? to me it seemed like you wouldnt have had enough speed for that flat afterwards

1) What music do you listen to while skiing, if any?

I love the sound of the wind. I only listen to music on the chairlift. Any style that inspires me.

2) Excluding your own edits and films, what is your favorite ski video to watch?

The Terje Haakonsen movie, Subjekt Haakonsen was my biggest inspiration.
The Jp auclair/Sherpas segment was also one of my inspirations.

3) Which of your own videos were you most satisfied with?

The first Candide Kamera. That was my first footage after i broke my back and that was a big relief.

SklarIt seems like you have never really been much of a fan of the spotlight, or the media. Do you care about all that? Or does it not matter to you?

Would you consider doing OOTD3 at another location? Or would you stick to Val Blanc for it?

Regarding OOTD2, how much coordination went into shots like the racer gap, and how many tries did it take for you to nail the shot you wanted?

Also, bring back the Candide Thovex Invatational. This isn't a question because it needs to happen. ;)

Where do you find the inspiration to do the lines you do? For example, what made you think about jumping over the race course, or jumping over the cliff in the trees, or any of the other countless insane hits that no one else would consider?

Also, how did you time the eagle shot?

What advice do you have for the newbs/gapers and (maybe, more importantly) the peers who criticize their comments and drive to progress in this sport?

How do you not explode when straight lining mogul fields?

And thank you for consistently reminding us to look at mountains from different perspectives! Apart from being just incredible displays of skiing, OOTD1 and 2 are in my mind amazing because they show you approaching a mountain anyone can access in a new, creative, and insane way!

SklarWhen you made the first OOTD, did you know how well it would be received and the reach it would get? Or did it take you by surprise?

How did that affect OOTD2?


That is mainly some everyday skiing with my friends.
At one point, i was like, maybe i should try to film this with a POV Camera.
Definitely got surprised of the results.
And then i was like, maybe i should try to be more creative about it.

Mr.BishopWhat is your perspective on the current state of the ski industry? As someone who has been there from the very start of the 'revolution' it would be fascinating to hear how you see it growing from what you guys started into what it is today.


I don't really like the athletic side of it today. At the beginning we got inspired by snowboarding and we only wanted to get away from this serious attitude. Training and stuff. It' s all about having fun.
But this is only my point of view. Anybody do what they want. It is called FREEstyle.
I'm not a big fan of the No Pole to be honest. I'm a skateboarder.
But once more, anybody do what they enjoy.

Doctors told me i would not able to jump again or ski the way i used to.
Sure i was nervous. I just kept positive and stretched a lot.

ColinBWould you have any interest in coming back to ski at Alta in the next year or two? Your skiing and what you've been able to do with the terrain at La Clusaz has been a huge influence to all of us kids skiing around up in Little Cottonwood and it would be amazing to get the chance to meet and ski with you!
