What Time do You show up to the mountain?

I personally like showing up to a ski mountain bright and early, on a regular schedule, and especially if we get a ton of snow the day before. But I have noticed the park just doesn't get anyone until like 9:30 or 10, alot of my friends just dont even bother getting out of bed until the sun is high. What time do you guys tend to show up to the mountain and why?

Always try and be in line before the lifts are running and typically leave when they stop running

I am an early riser, sometimes my brothers, friends and I will show up nights before. Traffic can be a bitch so earlier is always better. first tracks are always great and nothing like empty park laps with friends in the chilly mornings.

On weekend I like go get there 15 minutes before lifts start. I'll usually leave around 5/6. Then when I have class, I'll go around 4 - close.

Depends on conditions..pow day 745 am before general public gets on at 8:30 or if its really nice conditions. On average days usually around 1015. We have a cut the line pass so I literally haven't waited in a liftline for 4 years now at all. So its nice I can crush from 10-1:30 usually 15-20 laps eat lunch ski another hour and call it a day getting in double what the usual folks get.

Unless there's deep powder, I don't get to the mountain until 11 or 12. Leave around 2. I'm a jaded fuck.

If I'm touring, I'll get up there around 3 or 4 AM, and leave around 4 PM.

Been skiing every day so I don't stay all day. Usually hit it from 9-12 or 10-1 or so.

My east coast mountain opens at 8:00 am. I get there at 8 and stay till they close. I've been skiing three times this season and I have 30 hours under my belt. If you wonder why I stay from open to close it's because I love to ski. My mountain is shit there is a dfd a hybrid a A frame box a party box and a 20 foot single barre. I lapped that park for 30 hours because I love skiing simple as that. If you love skiing you should be out there every second you can.

Sometimes I'll get up early for opening, but that's usually only when I'm carpooling with friends who want to get up to the mountain. If I'm driving myself, I'll probably get there at like 10:30 or 11:00. I like my sleep.

On days I work I normally get there at about 4pm and stay until 9-10pm. On my days off I am there normally around 9:30-10:00am and depending on circumstances stay until 3:30-8:30pm (11 hours of skiing can wear you out.)

30 mins before first chair when there is powder. 1030-11 is the earliest if the snow is going to be hard and cruddy from the night before and I can't leave the piste until it softens but 930-10 if morning conditions are good.

It's weather dependent. Pow days I usually get up to the mountain around 9 or 930, although nothing's even open when the lifts start spinning most days because avy control is still in progress. Non pow days it varies greatly depending on how much I drank the night before and how i think conditions will be. Spring I usually don't go up until later in the day because it's icy until almost lunchtime.

Always been a morning guy. since as long as I can remember I have always showed up at the hill before the lifts are spinning. From the days when I was a park rat and spent a solid 2 hours with the freshly cut pipe all to myself to now when I'm almost always in the first few chairs on a pow day.

Never understood the mentality of folk who show up in the afternoon - especially when it is a pow day.


If I'm out touring I normally try to get to the trailhead between 8 and 9am. Some days I 'should' be out there earlier, but I'm not a fan of waking up in the dark of night.

depends on the weather conditions for me usually.
If it snowed a lot: there before the lifts open.
If its warm and snow will get slushy and slow: get there right as or just after lifts open.
If the temperature and snow conditions have been moderate and not likely to change usually get there around 10 and let things flow naturally.
