marijuana and skiing?

Ok I have read alot of post recently and people (on these forums at least) seem to think that skiing and smoking go together. Does anyone else get this feeling?

I actually know people who board, and get high while on the mountain and then have the nerve to go back out and continue boarding.

Anyway what are your thoughts?

Haha I was simply asking if others had thoughts.

If your dumb enough to get high and then ski that's your own problem, and you will have to deal with putting others lives in danger.

If you wanna smoke up on your own time by all means go ahead lol, nothing against that, just keep it off the mountains.

do you smoke? if you dont, then dont say shit. im not endangering anybody. if you got high once, you can't say shit, either. the high gets way less intense as you smoke longer and you can control yourself fine.

i dont ski stoned, but it would be the easiest thing ever, weed doesnt fuck with my motor skills that much. Shut ur ass with the bullshit about endangering other people. I just like skiing to much to impair it with weed is all. They each have their seperate times.

Yeh I never actually bashed it or accused anyone haha, I simply said keep it out of the park, and asked for peoples thoughts.

the fact that it is not as widespread is not the only difference. weed and alcohol have way different effects on motor skills and driving. not to say that smoking and driving doesn't cause problems, but there is no way you can classify it as being the same as drinking. if you think so then you have no idea you're talking about

the other day i blazes and hit the pipe( the half-pipe) after and i was so dam high(out of the pipe). i was going the highest ive ever aired like atleast 6-7 feet and i was freaked and i did it for the rest of the day!

It sounds like we need to have a talk little Enlighter,

Alot of people, especially skiers in college are really more normal and more like 'themselves' after they've smoked. These people are clearly potheads, but a lot of them are very good skiers. They'll take smoke breaks throughout the day, as naturally as you might take a piss. Many of the people you see skiing on a given day are stoned. While they might not be all that bright, they still ski fine, despite what the DARE program may have told you.

I used to smoke and ski quite a bit, but that kind of stopped as my pot use in general tapered off.

you say it puts people in danger? how about this. by skiing, im putting myself in danger. there are a million things that can happen to me when i go skiing, but i understand and accept these risks. i also choose to go off jumps and grind rails. these bring about many new dangers, all of which i am aware of, understand, and accept. when i smoke, im not a dumbass. i think its safe to say that everyone on here doesnt get ripped out of their minds and skis, they just go get high and then fucking rip.

but everyone who smokes and skis knows what they are doing. they know that skiing is dangerous, jumping is dangerous, and smoking is dangerous. they know the risks that they are taking, and they know that they have a reasonable amount of control over the circumstances.

one last thing, TO EACH THEIR OWN. people are going to do what they are going to do, and there is nothing you can do about it, so shut up, and go fucking ski. peace.

hell yeah johhnn, thats what i basically what i was getting at. i have complete faith in my abilities as a skier that even while high i can ski good as hell. if i wasnt a confident skier, i wouldnt do it. also, i wont try really really hard things when im high. i usually wont try a new trick, ill ski at a reasonably speed, i wont ski near rocks or trees. im not a dumbass. just cause i smoke pot doesnt mean im not concious of what im doing. learn about something before you judge it. here, www.erowid.org

oh, and the thing i said about i dont ski near rocks and trees; i had to learn that the hard way. last year at copper i was dumb and didnt pay attention to the fact my brother, who lived in breck, told me a bunch of times how little snow there was. i skied near rocks anyways, and won 3 hours of surgury to put my nose back on and lips back together and 5 days in the hospital to recover from the surgury and a lacerated liver. yes, you can get real fucked up when your high and skiing and not paying attention. thats why you make sure you always know whats going on.
