Brakes ripped out and no others can screw into the binding... Any ideas?

Basically what the title says. I'm using marker squire schizo bindings on my new infamous skis (great skis by the way) and one time I fell and the brake got ripped out on one of my bindings, and the plastic plate must have been damaged what the screw screws into because the screws won't bite into the binding and the brake ultimately just slides off...

Has anyone got any tips on how to solve this? I've been thinking about superglue/epoxy/araldite to hold the brake in place... Will they work?

I'd highly doubt that this is going to work for you. Even if it holds the brake in for a bit, the forces on that thing are pretty dang strong. It'll just rip out again.

I think you're in for a visit to a local binding tech.

If your saying that you ripped the threading out on the binding... And the binding is not cracked then just get a fatter screw to thread into it. Your local hardware store should have something that would work.

Take it to a shop. That's your best and safest bet.

don't buy crappy binders in the first place
and put your gabbers in the gear forum

I've used a nut and carriage bolt before, but be warned this changes what is the weakest link

Or as someone mentioned, just use a leash instead.

Go to your shop and buy some new brakes. They are super easy to get in on most bindings.

New brakes seriously cost like 20$ and they are attached with 2 screws, atleast for all the other marker bindings. Takes under a minute to change + buying a new pair of brakes just gives you one extra one in case you break another.

Not sure about markers but the bottom plate that the brake screws into is relaceable and not too pricey

can you post some photos of the problem.

I'm guessing that you can 1. use a larger (fatter) screw or, 2. replace the brake.

But without a visual it is impossible for me to really send you in the correct direction for a DIY solution.

It sounds like the hole got stripped out. If tapping and a bigger screw dosent work try and see if you can get a helicoil That will fit. Other than that you might be sol

Take them back to where you bought them and inquire about a warranty claim.
