X Games adds video-game tournament

Aspen Winter X Games adds video-game tournament to its menu...


In my personal opinion this is some bullshit, X Games has always been about a competition compiled of the greatest winter action sport athletes from around the world competing in what used to be the most progressive comp in our sport. The last thing this needs to be is a bunch of button mashing, teabagging, basement junkies having there parents take them up there for something they have no business in. If you want to have a gaming convention in Aspen, go for it, good luck, but to come impede on something not event related to the roots of the event if pretty uncool.

they were at the summer x games. & not saying it's a sport but none of you could compete in that event, those guys are way to good and dedicate themselves like a lot of you do too skiing. No, not just sitting on the couch, the strategy and teamwork is on another level. Look at League of Legends in Korea, the pros are practically celebrities over there and they fill stadiums at the World Championships with multi million dollar prize pools

As a cs player for a long time who practice esport a lot and also a freeskier who can enjoy a park all the day and shred pillows like everyone here, I'm just glad to know I will be able to watch ski comps and csgo matches at the same time with my friends who are also freeskiers and hardcore gamers like me :D

I agree completely with all of you, in the summer xgames they had CoD. I personally play both CS and CoD, but they have no right at all in xgames and should not be there. I know that there are events that are put on multiple times throughout the year for both Cod and CS, and getting a gold medal for winning a CS tourney seems kinda lame. While gaming and esports (yes its an actual thing) are growing vastly they shouldnt be in the xgames. And stuff like this isnt televised, its live streamed on various websites. But i think there might have been a highlight or two that got on TV from cod after the summer xgames
