It does not, and .999 doesn't= 1, both these are due to the capabilities of technology, as a calcuator that has .999999999999 in it will just round to 1, when in actuality it's obviously always going to be .00000000000000...001 off.
that's why the imperial system makes sense, metric system you divide everything by 10. a foot or 12 can be half quartered or split in three. plus it goes into a base 12, and base 16 perfect squares. suck it Europe

Would still prefer the metric system from an engineering standpoint. If I need to go less than an inch, I have to go into fractions of an inch. If I want less than a centimeter I just go to millimeters. And dividing 10s is pretty damn easy, sure you may get some repeating numbers, but that aint no big deal.
