The (new) Official Vinyl Thread

I have some cheap Target record player at the moment, but it does it's job.

I can't say I have a huge colection myself because most of the stuff I find are from old antique shops and pawn shops (You can get like 10 for $20). However out of all the records I have I would have to say these 3 have spent more time on the table then all the others times 10.

Can't go wrong with a good old Haggard tune.

i use my dad's sony turntable which is older than i am but when i started using it a year and a half ago, it hadn't been used since before i was born, so it works brilliantly. my speakers aren't the best but i'll upgrade them eventually, the rest of the set up is great. i also have numark decks for dj-ing but i've not set them up since i need to buy a few things for them. my collection consists of:

My dad has hundreds of records somewhere in the house that he won't let me go near, but i know he has some first edition hendrix records among other gems that are probably worth a shitload now.

My favourite records are probably MBDTF and Kind Of Blue. MBDTF was very expensive but i've seen it go for like 5 times what i paid so i'm pretty stoked i got it for what i did. it's a really nice presentation too, with 3 vinyls, giant poster and little art cards with the George Condo paintings on them. definitely a collector's item.

I love this. Those IKEA shelves are perfect. I've got a 2x4 one and most of it is filled with books, but one square has records. I'll probably need to get another one before too long (more books and more vinyl).

Just packing for the weekend and tidying up my place a bit and listening to Led Zeppelin IV. I forgot how good it is...

My personal collection is pretty small, as I usually only buy music when I go to shows, but my parents have a decent collection. I mostly get new metal/prog releases at shows, but I do want to get some more jazz and hiphop in my collection too. Charlie Parker is up next I feel.
