15 Hour Shift?

On Saturday I have a 15 hour shift, only 9 hours consist of lifting and true labor, the rest are mainly standing around and loading people onto lifts. How can I stay awake, and how much coffee will kill me?

Eat some sort of breakfast, and then just drink black coffee and water. Works for me. 12 to 15 hour days are a bit of a normal for me tho.

I work minimum 14 hours a day fixing in and flying in helicopters I get 1 day off every 14 days and make less then 2.50 an hour...worth it for what I do. Find a job you love and its not a job

I worked 10 hours and my shift was supposed to come to an end so I ate a pumpkin hash moon pie. An hour later I was asked to stay and work another 6 hours until 5 in the morning. No coffee just the moon pie, I ended up falling asleep for 2 hours and I got woken up at 6 in the morning.

Crazy man. Sick you found something you love though! Is there room in the future to make more? Is it $2.50 an hour because you're salary and you're dividing the hours by your salary?

thats what I make as a soldier [e-4] deployed to Afghanistan, I do however bank most of that because food and medical is payed for out here. And it is my salary divided by hours.

I would recommend using an IV to directly add 5 hour energy to your blood stream throughout the day. If this doesn't seem to work definitely just snort some cocaine.

I am a Vet.. Are you doing the math for 24 hour per day? I could see that. Considering in the hazardous duty pay and tax free? At least you can save a bunch while you're over there.

I just redid my calculation adding e-4 pay (i was going off e-3) also adding my flight pay, hazard and per diem pay and it comes to 3.98 per hour. But of course theres nothing to spend money on out here but car payement since my phones shut off and my insurance is taken off my jeep.

Vastly varies, it depends on the caffeine content which differs from type of coffee.

But it's nearly impossible to kill yourself by caffeine, you'll die earlier off dilutional hyponatremia if you consume such a large amount of coffee.

Want to kill yourself with a caffeine overdose: take some caffeine pills.

The LD50 of caffeine in humans is dependent on individual sensitivity, but in general around 150 to 200 mg per kg of body mass. So let's say your buddies have average bodies weighing 70kg, so that's ~10-14 gram's of caffeine, this doesn't take in account any liver damage such as cirrhosis or any medication that has an effect of blocking the enzyme responsible for the metabolism of caffeine which can lower the LD50 drastically.

So no, 10 probably won't kill them if they are young healthy individuals, but they can already get a caffeine overdose, especially if they take them in in quick succession, I would tell them to moderate their usage.

I've been working a summer job in a box factory and have been working 12 hour shifts 2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off (i usually take overtime though) for about a month now. Other than breaks it's 12 hours of stacking bundles of boxes. The plant floor is hot as fuck, around 35 degrees celsius, but isn't all that bad. Days are easy to stay away but nights I make sure to have a good breakfast the day before then sleep until dinner time before my shift and drink tons of water on the floor. It's a pretty sweet gig considering I work with 3 friends and I'll make enough dough in two months to almost pay off my first year of university.

Just work it..... I work days like this weakly...doing extremely manual labor.....in 100 degree weather... on pavement...adding another-15 degrees.....
