Yeah I know there were some rant threads over the years grinds my gears and whatever. I don't think any of them were that happening to dig up. I probably made one of them honestly. Whatever.

I figured if we could rant somewhere we'd be more docile creatures in the rest of the forums.

BortyWell, back at work for the first time in almost 3 weeks.

Pretty stoked that there were a billion warm days in that time and that now it's 10 degrees outside and I have a bunch of outdoor work. Not outdoor work like digging in rails, things like welding grinding, painting, putting on topsheets.


10 degrees, is definitely the ideal temp to do all of that. Obviously can't actually paint today because I don't even think it would be possible, but it means if it's mid 20's this week I'll probably give it a go and hope it's not too horrible.

Also now have a ton of things to do and insanely far beyond schedule.


I'm finishing everything in the spring and early fall for next year. Ugh

You are a park manager correct??

MLBMy girlfriend and I are going through some shit right now that is driving me nuts.

Background is that she cheated on me this summer while I was fire fighting, and I didn't find out until October. We moved in together and its all fucked. So I decided to try and work it out with her and just make a go of it.

The problem now is that it opened up a whole can of worms. Like she repressed all these emotions over so many years and now it's all coming out. She cries almost everyday, and basically can't forgive her self. She gets these panic attacks because she thinks I'm going to leave her and freaks out. As a result of all this she ha basically lost almost all affection for me, she is grossed out by the idea of sex, and tells me that I'm a reminder of all the things she did wrong.

I love her, and she loves me but this just feels fucked. She says she wants to fight for us, and for me not to let her ruin us. I really don't know what to do.

Plus I've been sick for 4 months, and all the doctors I see seem to be semi retarded.

Seriously they are fucking crazy. Most of the people who live here are students and we don't go back until the 25th. I just got an email saying they're "inspecting" the condition of our units. And they asked for everything to be cleaned and shit. LIKE NO ONE IS FUCKING THERE RIGHT NOW. hahahahaha what the hell do they expect? People to come back to clean it? My roommates left that place a damn mess and now because I'm the closest person, I'm expected to go and clean it up... lol sucks for my roommates but I'm not cleaning their shit up.

Seriously what the fuck is up with that? Do landlords actually do that because this is just fucking stupid.

I get if there's damage but wtf. How do you charge someone for having a messy apartment lmao. It's fucking dumb. Oh well. My stuff is clean, so if I get charged for their shit they can fucking pay for it.

The guy that hit my car says he can't afford the whole estimate. He is asking about making payments which I don't thinks is an option. Seems like a nice guy so I don't want him to get screwed over but I also think I should get my car fixed. Social conventions and laws are pretty clear cut in these cases. But.. the dude could have just left fake info and got of free.
The guy at my shop thinks I should file an uninsured motorist claim with my insurance and then I can get my car fixed for $200. He thinks they will take the $82 I paid for my alignment job off the estimate.
If this happens State Farm will collect on the guy and probably file a police report. I'd feel pretty bad for the guy if he got hammered with a ticket and collection fees. I also have people telling me I let myself get pushed around too much so I'm conflicted.

Yeahh, I mean anyone can live here, it's not designated for students. It's a few miles from campus and really cheap though, so a lot of us are college kids. There are a decent amount of families who live here though too. It's just weird. I would understand if they were checking the A/C, water heaters, laundry stuff, furnace, etc. But to say your apartment has to be clean is fucking lols. Oh well though, it's just another dumb thing.

Is it common for people to be so out of shape that they are out of breath after 2 flights of stairs? Happens every day at my office. We are on the second story but they have a restaurant with really high ceilings on the first floor so it is more than just a one story climb up. We are still less than 2 stories up. We are almost at sea level too. Every day we have people come up to our counter that literally can't talk because they are out of breath from the stairs. Makes me feel sad because I know these people must be uncomfortable almost all the time.

not sure what the reasons were but the crowds that were recently out here for the holidays were easily the worst I have ever heard of. fortunate to not deal with any of the bullshit upfront and it got hectic at work no doubt (fuck new years eve royally), but some of the first-hand accounts from on the mountain make your fuckin blood boil.

my sister is also a freeride development coach. one of her little girls was politely holding the door open for people as the entered/exited a lodge. for some reason, this loaded as fuck dad (yes, he was with his family sadly) starts essentially harassing her saying shit like "you little privelaged brat, stop holding the door open you dumb kid", just getting abnormally mad over this whole thing. My sister calmly walks over to diffuse the situation, and the dude is literally about to start swinging, like she honestly got freaked out and just left with her group. where the fuck do people get off acting like that? its a little kid man, calm your ass down you fucking prick. im sure your wife and kids are real proud of dad tearing into a girl that cant even fucking drive a car yet.


this one makes me really angry. I guess some jerry girl skied over some guys skis accidentally. she apologized but it didn't end there. THe dude literally stalks here all over the canyons, confronts her at the bottom, and borderline assaults the lady (shoves her down, she breaks her shoulder and knocks her head real good I guess), dude takes off, no one does anything. Honestly fuck people, you're really gonna sit there and let some dude hurt a woman like that? What the fuck is wrong with people nowadays, I don't give a fuck, id break that bastards kneecap with my langes if he ever laid a hand on someone I was with like that. people are fucked up.

I had a buddy (looks like a gaper...but can actually ride pretty good) accidentally tap a guys skis at Alpine meadows once....not bad at all. Just the normal lift line tap. Dont understand why people get so angry skiing. Its odd and not worth fighting people for unless they are trying to hurt you. Not a fan of this tourist and local crowd in park city now at all, glad i have passes else where.

Apparently my roommates got a dog and I just got charged $1,000 for it.


Also I'm getting really sick of people bailing last minute. I don't mind skiing by myself but of the 12 days I've skied, 10 of them were alone and it's jut not the same. I don't know. Park laps alone are weird. At least when a lot of the hill is open you can legit ski and that's not bad but we only have like 3 runs open. It's just really shitty.

Going to be building out first full park of the season for this weekend, but still have a ton of work to do getting more features ready and finishing some stuff. On one side I'm getting told to get it done, because we need it, and make it sick(as if I wasn't going to) On the other end I'm getting yelled at to keep my hours to a minimum. Honestly there's work to the point I'm not even sure how I'm getting it done this week, although I'm doing pretty well, but I'm definitely not wasting any time.

I'd be able to use time a little better if I could work in the shop at night but somebody decided that putting a giant furnace and everything/anything that goes with it taking up the whole welding bay made more sense. I might bring in some work lights and just do everything in the snow but still.

Also offered to work free when I had to lay myself off for 3 weeks because of the weather. Everything needed so much work. Wasn't able to do that so now there is a ton of work. Also still have a little bit of painting to do. Always nice to have a paint project outside in january.

Also been digging in digging out everyday almost with the park. Only have a small down rail in atm. But have had 2 features most of the time. I'm getting a slow trickle of snowmaing that isn't as much as I need, but is just enough that I'm getting hassled about moving the features. I've dug said down rail in the ground the same way, and built a takeoff for it 5 or 6 times since Wed. I think 3 times on the other feature. So instead of finishing all the work on the other features, I'm wasting the little bit of man hours I have digging in a small rail, just to dig it out just to dig it in.

It sucks when you don't have much of a park, but you've worked extremely hard just to have that. I just want something in for the kids.

Hopefully I'm able to finish everything in the next couple days, and get a decent park built for this weekend.

This is day 11 or 12 straight with some 12+ hour days mixed in and really nothing worthwhile to show for it.

Met this hot ass blonde hair blue eyes high school girl whose around two years older then me we skid a few times, I skipped my local park team just to ride with her, showed up at my local mini hill around 6 at night to hang with her landed switch off this kink rail they have their and destroyed my binding, so I went in hung out with her she left after like ten minutes and then two days later I get this long ass text saying it ain't going to workout. Im mad for three reasons, first off I skipped my park team, coach was cool with it but if we ain't going to be something I wasted a day of good skiing, secondly I broke the whole brake pad on my right ski and just had to pay $250 for a brand new pair of bindings and lastly she's been flirting with me for almost two weeks sending me all these "I miss you" texts, she's always touching me fuckin everywhere and now I get this message saying it ain't going to work because I'm a little bit younger and we can't see each other all the time, so as you can tell OP is butthurt.

its cruise in the right lane and pass on the left, correct? some dude got super butthurt at me tonight on my way home on the highway and started flashing his annoying ass led brights at me cuz he was going like 60 and I was crusing at a nice 70 or so, so I passed him on the left and got back over.


also light bars are the dumbest shit for highway driving, im pretty sure they were made for boondocking jeeps and shit in the woods, and dipshits always drive with them on at night

I'm honestly ready for it to be summer. Know that's blasphemy but damn.

I have no snow, I have no park, I'm stoked, the kids are stoked, everyone is stokes.

Was up in the cat last night playing with the little bit of snow I have. Going to try and build a last minute park with no plan today.

Also best part is half my features aren't finished either. This season is a fucking blast.

I mean there's still time in the spring, but I really don't know if I can salvage this season.

I hate being stressed as fuck, but at least usually I have a pretty decent park to feel better. Now I have all the stress without having even built a park other than a rail or two.

Also the downside to having everything hyped up at the start. I mean it was perfectly reasonable to do so, as I really could have built this place a sick park program, but now that I'm not allowed to do anything, it sucks for the kids. Just another year of BS hype, and broken dreams.

The ski industry will crush your soul.

Leave the park as is for the rest of the season. If management is happy with what you have, and fighting them isn't doing shit....then fuck it.

Just keep to yourself during the day and make it look like your working enough to make a paycheque. Then at night, perfect your grooming/cat driving skills for Vail next year.

I work with him. When I say friend, I don't really mean friend ha. I wouldn't actually say any of these people are my friends but I'm around them and I know them so I guess they're my friends? Idk, I'm sort of forced to be and its the closest I've gotten to a friend in a while. But most all of them suck which is why I'm moving after this semester hahahaha.

MinggMy friend fucking stabbed me in the eye last night with my ski pole. Why the hell would a 20 year old dude be throwing ski poles around a condo is fucking beyond me. My eye hurts, I can't see and I have to take the day off and I'm fucking pissed. Everyone else is out skiing and I'm stuck inside listening to this dude and his girlfriend. Fuck this shit. All the more reason to not associate with people. Oh well.

Came here to say it's raining at Hood right now :( Oh well. Looks like it might be below freezing at Timberline by night session so I'm going to pack a towel and an extra jacket.

And everyone just wants to smoke fucking weed and it's so fucking annoying. I've waited all morning to go to this lake and they STILL aren't ready because they've been smoking and shit. I'm so fucking irritated. I hate these people so much. We're here for a week and people have they're fucking heads up their asses being retards.

Huge bummer especially when I'm on a schedule like when there isn't night skiing. I hate being up early and then people aren't ready till like noon or later. Story of my life sometimes but I'm trying to let go and just flow with it. Tonight I'm going solo which is fun i but might feel a little dreary if I get all wet. I have some good food to bring though so I shouldn't complain.

Holy moly. Shit or get off the pot. Do not stop in the middle of traverse paths looking at something to ski. I shit you not, i almost smoked like 10 jerries today. Its fucking dangerous.

And fuck you if you think im skiing too fast thru there. Grow a pair and realize standing in narrow-ass places dumb dumb dumb.
